DAILY GAME RECAPS: APRIL 1

Konawaena (2) vs. Hilo (11)

Hilo created separation early and never gave it back, using a six-run third to take control in an 11-2 win over Konawaena. The Vikings showed a complete effort, limiting traffic on the mound while consistently applying pressure offensively. Liam Roddy set the tone with 3.0 hitless innings and 6 strikeouts, while Taydyn Agudo added another 3.0 scoreless frames. Offensively, Richard Wells Jr drove in a pair, while Damien Taaca and Tyson Santiago each turned in multi-hit performances as Hilo’s lineup stayed productive throughout.

Kapa'a (5) vs. Waimea (3)

Kapa’a leaned on timely hitting and steady pitching to secure a 5-3 win over Waimea. Kawika Kupihea paced the offense with a three-hit day, including two doubles and three RBIs, consistently delivering in run-producing spots. The Warriors’ staff pieced together multiple clean innings, with Kaitin Mundon turning in a key scoreless stretch to help maintain control. Waimea stayed within striking distance behind Kaena Henderson’s strong outing, but Kapa’a executed late to close it out.

Kamehameha Maui pulled away in the middle innings and controlled the game behind a complete performance on both sides. Kaimi Kamoku worked 7.0 strong innings, limiting damage and keeping King Kekaulike from building momentum. Offensively, the Warriors stayed consistent, with Kai Kang driving in two and Gosselin adding a multi-hit effort to help extend innings and create separation.

Punahou and Mid-Pacific went back-and-forth all game, trading momentum in a 7-7 draw. Kahaku Harrison led the Punahou offense with a home run and double, while Kekoa Payanal and Jayden Oshiro each added multi-hit efforts with run production. Mid-Pacific answered behind Reese Higuchi’s four-RBI day, including a home run, with Brayden Shizuru and Ezekiel Asato continuing to apply pressure. Both sides executed late, but neither could separate.

Kamehameha Kapalama scratched across two late runs and held off St. Louis in a tight 2-1 game. Pono Kong limited damage across 5.0 scoreless innings, while Kupono Barkdull added 2.0 innings of one-run ball to close it out. Offensively, Ryeder Takahashi delivered an extra-base hit with an RBI, while Iona Uyehara came through with a key run-producing at-bat in a game that stayed tight throughout. Jandon “Kekai” Perreira worked 6.0 innings and allowed just one run, but took the tough-luck loss despite a gritty outing.
