April 1, 2026
NASHVILLE, TN — The Nashville Rising Stars ID was held at Lipscomb Academy on Sunday, March 29th that featured some of the top talent in the 2030-2031 classes. Players went through a pro-style workout with TrackMan and VALD Performance tech, while pitchers threw in a bulllpen setting and were able to get data and metrics on our TrackMan unit.
Some prospects built on past showings, while others made strong first impressions.
We begin our post-event coverage with a look at some of the top performers from the event, with more breakdowns and full scouting reports coming soon.

QUICK HITS ✍️

Christian Baker SS / OF / Webb, TN / 2030Showed up big in the showcase with a projectable frame standing at 5’10 145 lbs with a lot of room to grow. Looks to have a chance to be a true shortstop with advanced actions and a smooth arm that worked from different slots. At the plate, Christian showed good bat speed and barreled everything through the middle of the field. The barrel control shows his baseball IQ that should show up big at such a young age. Also, a good runner in the 6.8 range. Should play early on in his high school career at Webb School.

|
Nolan Horvath SS / RHP / Station Camp, TN / 2030Is an interesting two way player that has tremendous upside. In the field, Nolan showed a strong glove and arm that should allow him to play multiple positions in the infield. At the plate, Nolan keeps everything on a line and pulls the ball well which should make him a prime candidate for a middle of the order guy. On the mound, Nolan is an athletic mover with a fastball up to 82 MPH with good rise that should get on hitters quick. His breaking ball sat at around 68 MPH which gives him almost 15 MPH speed differential.

Miles Roach OF / RHP / Riverside High School, TN / 2030Is another two way prospect that showed up big at the showcase. Standing at 6’0 210 lbs, Miles is an anomaly as a legit power and speed guy running a 7.3 and posting 96 MPH exit velo at the plate. Miles is a left handed bat that creates good lift and hit multiple bombs during BP. In the outfield, Miles moves well and has a strong arm. On the mound, Miles has a heavy fastball that has been up to 88 MPH with a good breaking ball and an advanced changeup. Miles will be one to watch as he progresses.

Michael (Eli) Spurlock LHP / 1B / Lebanon, TN / 2030The Future Lebanon player is a two way prospect that showed a lot of quality traits at Nashville Rising Stars, building off his performance from the TN Preseason All-State. In the box, the left-handed stroke is smooth with natural ability to use the entire field. Did not sell out to the pullside for power. Finished with a 91 mph max EV. On the mound, he may have his highest ceiling where he routinely sat 80-82, topping 83. He shows some feel for spin on the slider, while also being able to locate it in the zone at times. The changeup may be his best secondary offering from the metrics with adequate horizontal movement. There is upside with a 3-pitch mix and will be someone we follow heavy as he gets into high school.

Jameson Anderson C / 3B / Cookeville, TN / 2030Jameson is the younger brother of KJ Anderson who represented Team Tennessee this past summer at the Prep Baseball Future Games. The swing is compact from the left side with a smoothness that finishes into a one arm finish. He belted balls consistently in the in 80’s mph range, while maxing out at 90 mph. Had one of the furthest hit batted balls at 318 feet, also showing exceptional feel for the barrel of the bat with a respectable sweet spot percentage. The catching prospect works well through the ball and will tap into his natural power ability as he matures.

|
Paxton West C / 3B / St Patrick High School, TN / 2030West shows a lot of promise at the catching position where he routinely clocked low 2.00 pop times with developing strength in the arm finishing with a max of 71 mph on throw downs. The actions are easy with clean receiving skills and transitions into his throws. Showed great accuracy to 2nd, while working well to the pitch with a quick trigger. The left-handed bat generates loft with ease and should tap into more power and contact ability with maturity.
