Compiled from submissions by high school coaches statewide, this feature highlights standout individual efforts from the previous week and takes a closer look at the players who made the biggest impact on the diamond.

From dominant outings on the mound to explosive offensive showings and all-around performances that fueled team success, Alabama Diamond Notes is your weekly snapshot of who’s trending across the state.

Colton Borden 1B / RHP / Arab, AL / 2026 The uncommitted senior had a big all-around week, going 9-for-14 (.643) with 5 doubles, 4 RBI, and 4 runs scored, while adding 3 walks. Also earned the win on the mound, tossing 3 scoreless innings in a 2-1 victory over Huntsville.

Gunner Johnson SS / OF / Brooks, AL / 2027 Johnson put together another strong two-way week, going 5-for-9 (.556) with a double, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored, while adding a stolen base and posting a .600 OBP. Also tossed a complete-game win vs. West Limestone, allowing 2 ER on 4 hits with 9 strikeouts and 2 walks over 7 innings.

Jackson Crippen 2B / SS / Hazel Green, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior collected 8 hits in 17 at-bats (.471), including a triple, while driving in 5 runs. Added 3 stolen bases (3-for-3) and finished with a .526 OBP.

Colton Clark SS / 3B / Hazel Green, AL / 2027 Clark turned in a strong two-way week, going 6-for-13 (.429) with a triple and driving in 5 runs, finishing with a .524 OBP. Also went 2-0 on the mound, tossing 8 innings with 6 strikeouts, allowing 7 hits and holding opponents to a .226 BAA.

Mayson Elam SS / 2B / Northridge, AL / 2026 The West Alabama recruit had a big week at the plate, going 11-for-21 (.524) with a HR, 6 doubles, 8 RBI, and 10 runs scored for the 6A No. 1 Jaguars.

Wyatt Rath C / 1B / Northridge, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior cather delivered a big week for the 6A No. 1 Jaguars, going 7-for-16 (.438) with 3 HR, a double, and 11 RBI.

Kamrin Jenkins SS / RHP / Bob Jones, AL / 2026 The Missouri recruit put together a productive week, going 6-for-15 (.400) with a HR, 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 6 runs scored. He also drew 4 walks, was hit three times, and swiped 4 bases.

Tayte Dunn C / 3B / Bob Jones, AL / 2026 The Itawamba CC recruit put together a solid week, going 5-for-14 (.357) with 5 RBI while drawing 4 walks for the Patriots.

Jace Duckett LHP / OF / Madison County, AL / 2027 The Alabama recruit exploded at the plate, going 11-for-17 (.647) with 2 triples, 3 doubles, 7 RBI, and 7 runs scored. Also drew 5 walks and added 2 stolen bases.

Brady Cavanaugh LHP / OF / Enterprise, AL / 2026 The Shelton State CC recruit had a huge week, going 10-for-15 (.667) with a HR, triple, double, 5 RBI, and 5 runs scored, finishing with a .706 OBP for 7A No. 1 Enterprise.

Jordon Lankford 3B / OF / Geraldine School, AL / 2028 Lankford once again filled up the stat sheet last week, going 5-for-8 (.625) with a double, 6 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Also added 2 walks, a HBP, and 4 stolen bases, finishing with a .727 OBP.

Kooper Rogers RHP / Geraldine School, AL / 2028 Rogers stayed hot at the plate, going 8-for-11 (.625) with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Also added a walk, swiped 3 bases, and finished with a .636 OBP.

Mason Holloway OF / 2B / Hamilton, AL / 2027 The junior turned in a dominant all-around week, going 9-for-13 (.692) with 2 triples, a double, 6 runs scored, and 2 RBI, while adding a stolen base and a .714 OBP. Also tossed a no-hitter vs. Phil Campbell, striking out 9.

Coley Gilstrap OF / LHP / Hamilton, AL / 2027 Gilstrap put together an efficient week at the plate, going 5-for-6 (.833) with a triple, 7 RBI, and 2 runs scored, while adding a stolen base

Houston Tibbs SS / 2B / Hamilton High School, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior produced in a big way on both sides, going 6-for-11 (.545) with a double, 10 RBI, and 6 runs scored, adding 2 stolen bases and 2 walks for a .692 OBP. Also tossed 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks.

Trent Williams C / SS / Hamilton, AL / 2030 Willliams put together a strong week at the plate, going 4-for-9 (.444) with a HR, 3 RBI, and 6 runs scored. Also drew 3 walks, stole 2 bases, and finished with a .667 OBP.

Kaden Walters C / 1B / Sardis High School, AL / 2027 Walters delivered a huge week at the plate, going 6-for-10 (.600) with 2 HR (including a grand slam) and 10 RBI, while adding a walk.

Jeremiah Hutchins OF / Lauderdale County, AL / 2026 The uncommitted senior used his speed and bat to impact the game, going 5-for-10 (.500) with a double and 5 runs scored, while swiping 4 bases and posting a .643 OBP.

Jacob O'Bryan 3B / C / Gulf Shores High, AL / 2026 O’Bryan made an impact in multiple ways, going 5-for-9 (.556) with a double, 5 RBI, and 3 runs scored. Also drew a walk, stole 4 bases, and finished with a .583 OBP

Price Stephens C / OF / Gulf Shores, AL / 2026 The Southern Union CC recruit filled up the stat sheet this week, going 5-for-9 (.556) with a double, 5 RBI, and 7 runs scored. Also added a walk, swiped 4 bases, and finished with a .583 OBP.

Grayson Arnette C / SS / Rehobeth High School, AL / 2028 Arnette put together a big week at the plate, going 9-for-14 (.643) with a HR, double, 6 RBI, and 10 runs scored. Also drew 2 walks, was hit twice, and added 3 stolen bases.

Jace Dean 1B / LHP / Rehobeth High School, AL / 2028 The sophomore turned in a big week at the plate, going 7-for-11 (.636) with 2 doubles, 5 RBI, and 6 runs scored. Also drew 4 walks, was hit twice, added a sac fly, and finished with a .722 OBP.

Brody Cook 1B / Rehobeth High School, AL / 2027 Cook came through in a big way offensively, going 7-for-14 (.500) with a double and 10 RBI, while scoring 4 runs. Also drew a walk, was hit by a pitch, and finished with a .563 OBP.

Dalton Fraedrich SS / 2B / Rehobeth High School, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior produced across the board last week, going 6-for-15 (.400) with a double, 6 RBI, and 9 runs scored. Also drew 4 walks, stole 5 bases, added a sac fly, and finished with a .500 OBP.

Will Gates RHP / 2B / Skyline High School, AL / 2026 Gates turned in a big two-way performance, going 5-for-10 (.500) with a triple, 3 doubles, and 9 RBI, while adding 3 stolen bases. Also earned the win on the mound, striking out 15 over 6 innings with 3 ER and 3 walks.

John Lawrence Chittam SS / RHP / Athens, AL / 2027 Chittam, an uncommitted junior, was dominant on the mound, earning the win with 7 innings of work while allowing just 2 hits and 1 earned run, striking out 13 with only 1 walk.

Hudson Marks RHP / 1B / Athens, AL / 2026 The Northwest Shoals CC recruit delivered a strong outing, earning the win with 7 scoreless innings, allowing just 4 hits while striking out 10.

Carter Richardson RHP / OF / Brooks, AL / 2028 Richardson picked up the win with a solid outing, going 6.2 innings while allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits, striking out 6 with 2 walks.

Graham Segraves RHP / OF / Bob Jones, AL / 2027 The uncommitted junior turned in a strong week on the mound, going 1-1 over 9 innings with 13 strikeouts, allowing just 1 earned run on 6 hits with 3 walks. Posted a 0.778 ERA and held opponents to a .171 BAA.

Hudson Olive RHP / 3B / Bob Jones, AL / 2028 Olive dominated on the mound, earning the win with 6 scoreless innings while allowing just 1 hit, striking out 8 with no walks. Also posted a .053 ERA.

Landon Rudd RHP / OF / Opelika, AL / 2026 The Meridian CC recruit delivered a big-time performance, tossing a complete-game win with 13 strikeouts over 7 innings, allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs with no walks in a 4-3 win over 7A No. 1 Hoover.

Hesston Parker RHP / SS / Lauderdale County, AL / 2027 Parker put together a dominant week on the mound, going 2-0 over 9 innings with 20 strikeouts, allowing just 1 earned run, with 4 walks and 1 HBP. Posted a 0.778 ERA and held opponents to a .133 BAA.
