Below are the scores and more from action on March 17th.
FROM TUESDAY (3.17.26)
+ BRUCE VS STRAYHORN
Strayhorn picked up a 7-5 win over Bruce on Tuesday, using a three-run fourth inning to reclaim the lead for good in a back-and-forth game. Balderrama earned the win in relief, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Saulsberry led the offense with two RBIs, while Frazier and Bateman each added two hits. Strayhorn also applied pressure on the bases with eight stolen bases in the win.
+ GERMANTOWN VS STARKVILLE
Starkville held on for a 5-4 win over Germantown on Tuesday, building an early lead and surviving a late push. A big fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run homer from Cohen, helped extend the advantage to 4-0. Knox earned the win, going 5.2 innings while allowing two runs, and the bullpen closed it out down the stretch. Cohen led the offense with three RBIs, and Starkville played a clean game defensively to secure the victory.
+ NORTHWEST RANKIN VS PEARL
Northwest Rankin secured a 4-0 shutout win over Pearl on Tuesday, led by a dominant outing from Meehan on the mound. Offensively, the Cougars scratched across runs early and added on behind contributions from Barthel, Phillipson, and Ainsworth, while also swiping six bases. Barthel set the tone at the top of the lineup with two hits, and Northwest Rankin backed the performance with a clean defensive effort to complete the shutout victory.
+ NEW ALBANY VS NORTH PONTOTOC
North Pontotoc picked up a 6-4 win over New Albany on Tuesday, fueled by a strong outing from Kentner, who struck out 12 over 6.2 innings. After falling behind early on a two-run homer, the Vikings responded quickly and took control with a big third inning. Williams led the offense with three RBIs, while Bledsoe added two hits. North Pontotoc did enough offensively and leaned on Kentner’s swing-and-miss stuff to secure the win.
+ ITAWAMBA AHS VS AMORY
Despite a dominant outing from Boykin, Amory fell to Itawamba Agricultural in extra innings on Tuesday. Boykin struck out 11 over 6.1 no-hit, scoreless innings, but the game remained locked in a pitching duel. Itawamba Agricultural broke through in the ninth inning, scoring three runs to secure the win. Both teams combined for 29 strikeouts, with Strong tossing eight hitless innings for Itawamba Agricultural, while Summers led the offense with two RBIs.
+ HOUSTON VS MOOREVILLE
Mooreville edged Houston 5-4 on Tuesday, led by a dominant performance from McDaniels, who struck out 14 over 6.2 innings. He also contributed at the plate with an RBI double, helping Mooreville regain the lead in the fifth. Cates added a home run and two RBIs, while Hicks closed the door to secure the save. Despite Houston battling back to tie the game mid-way through, Mooreville did just enough offensively to come out on top.
+ LAFAYETTE VS NEW HOPE
Lafayette outlasted New Hope in an 11-inning battle, 5-4 on Tuesday, with the go-ahead run coming on an error in extras. New Hope held a 4-2 lead early before Lafayette rallied to tie it and eventually take the lead late. Winters was outstanding in relief, tossing 7.2 scoreless innings with six strikeouts to earn the win. Waldrip led Lafayette with two RBIs, while New Hope got contributions from Glenn, Moore, and Hollis, but couldn’t hold off the late push.
