The Prep Baseball Louisiana High School Pitcher of the Week highlights the best individual pitching performance for a Louisiana high school player from the previous week.  Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please email Alex Armand at [email protected]

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wedensday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

2028 LHP Logan Maricle (Grace Christian School)

-Strikeouts: 20

Logan Maricle is off to an unbelievable start in 2026, and last Friday may have been his most dominant outing yet.

Facing Class 5A Ouachita, the sophomore southpaw was electric, spinning a complete-game one-hit shutout with just 1 walk and an eye-popping 20 strikeouts to lead Grace Christian to a 3-0 victory. The 20 punchouts set a new school record for most strikeouts in a single game.

And that performance is just part of a staggering early-season run. Through 23 innings pitched, Maricle has authored three one-hit performances and one no-hitter, piling up 60 total strikeouts in the process.

Simply put, he’s overpowering hitters at a historic rate right now.
