Charlie Delobe SS / RHP / Severna Park High School, MD / 2028Rankings StateRank: 10 / POS: 2
The 2025 Prep Baseball MD “Newcomer of the Year” had himself another breakout performance at the MD Preseason All-State II this winter, showcasing one of the top hit tools and arms that the event had to offer. At the dish, the added strength and physicality has only increased the power potential, and the smooth, yet explosive approach should see power numbers rise throughout 2026. A consistent middle approach that will turn into more doubles power this spring has this as one of the top hit tools to watch over the next few months. On the bump, this was without a doubt the most electric and advanced ‘pen on the day. The fastball is now into the 90s with ease, locating to both sides of the plate with steady carry through the zone. The slider/changeup combo has also added shape, working both for consistent strikes and feel for the bottom of the zone. More of a bat over arm throughout 2025 may have switched after a stellar preseason. |

Caleb Lambert OF / RHP / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2028Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 3
Another player that certainly increased his stock this preseason, the physical 6-foot-5, 200-pounder was eye-opening throughout his workout at the MD Preseason All-State I. Loud pull side power was on full display during BP, showcasing the consistent ability to backspin to the alleys with authority, and the barrel feel only adds on to the intrigue at the dish. Quick, explosive hands with balance, this is a can’t miss power bat in the class. Still an arm over bat right now, the ability on the bump was nothing short of special, running the heater into the mid 80s with plenty more in the tank, mixing the overhand breaking ball in for strikes at the knees. The changeup shows promise as well, rounding out a strong three-pitch mix that is just barely breaking the surface of the long-term ability. |

Jesse Orford C / OF / Bethesda-Chevy Chase High, MD / 2028Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 3
Our highest “New Face” jumps inside the Top 20 of this update following a strong performance at the MD Preseason All-State I. A switch-hitting catcher with long, lean levers at 6-foot-4, Orford showcases present barrel awareness with doubles power to both gaps and plenty of power from both sides of the dish. Fluid, rhythmic actions allow this to be a nice mix of power/high contact, and look for this spring to be the “coming out party” for Orford, as this spring will be his 1st in the states. |
