Over 90 players made the trip to Columbia, MD for the 2026 MD Preseason All-State I. Players participated in a pro-style workout that included BP, defense, 30-yard dash and threw bullpens in front of our staff. Below, Jamie Naill highlights 12 players who made a huge impression at the event.

Shane Beebe C / 3B / Quince Orchard High, MD / 2027A Prep Baseball MD Underclass Team award winner last spring, Beebe was a huge standout at the dish for Quince Orchard in 2025, and following another stellar performance at this preseason showcase has the 6-foot-2 catcher poised for another huge year in 2026. It’s smooth, fluid operation at the dish with quiet hands and explosive action through contact, allowing the barrel to turn at a high rate and produce loud barrels to all fields, to the tune of a 98.8 max exit velocity. The strength has always been to the pull side, but look for more whole field power this spring as the body has really added some evident physicality. Behind the dish, the actions are clean with quick footwork that gain ground well to the bag, showcasing accurate throws and an above average arm (1.98 best pop time).

James Bowman OF / RHP / Dulaney High, MD / 2028Buy stock now in James Bowman. An athletic, versatile right-handed hitter with outlandish power out of a still lean 6-foot-1 frame. A young 2028, the body still has plenty of room to fill out and has all the makings of being a real power threat once the body really matures. The numbers are off the charts, per usual with Bowman, turning in an 84.3 Max Bat Speed (75.5 Avg.) per Blast Motion and a 101.6 mph Max Exit Velocity per TrackMan, while averaging a touch over 90 mph. It’s a controlled setup with plenty of torque in the hips, staying through the ball and elevating occasionally for evident pull side juice. As the barrel control comes to fruition, this is a can’t miss bat in the 2028 class, one that is only beginning to break the surface on the ability.

Brooks Caslin OF / RHP / John Carroll School, MD / 2028A player that we have been on for some time now, Brooks Caslin is really starting to turn it on and the ability on both sides of the ball has our entire staff intrigued for the near future. It’s a direct path to the ball with the ability to create some natural lift to the gaps, with more to come as the body adds some more strength. The barrel feel and accuracy is what stood out the most to me, staying controlled and balanced through the entire operation with the ability to spray line to line. This is a high contact, high average makeup with some power upside. Turned in PR’s in exit velocity (95.2 mph), average exit velocity (89.5 mph), and outfield velo (86 mph).

Tommy Futrell SS / 3B / Reservoir High, MD / 2027A 2024 Super Sophomore Games alum, Futrell has always shown the ability of being an impact player on both sides of the ball, and a standout performance at this showcase put him right at the top of being one of the day’s biggest winners. The added strength was a big eye-opener for me, and the smooth, yet explosive actions at the dish backed up the added strength. Consistently peppered backspun line drives to the back of the cage with controlled intent, and showcased quick hands through contact. The barrel speed continues to tick up, and the consistency in the barrel bodes well for breakout success this spring at Reservoir.

Chase Ginsberg RHP / OF / Mcdonogh School, MD / 2027Entering 2026, one of the more notable under-the-radar arms in the state was Chase Ginsberg, however, following multiple standout performances this preseason won’t have the 6-foot-1 righty sneaking up on anyone this spring. A bonafide number two behind Duke commit Leo Antwerpen at McDonogh, Ginsberg features one of the more intriguing pitch arsenals in the MIAA and will continue to get better and better as the months go on. The fastball shows some ride and late life through the zone in the low to mid 80s, coupled with a sharp breaking ball with feel down and one of the more devastating splitters (~700 rpm) that this state has to offer. As this frame fills and more innings get under Ginsberg’s belt, look for this stock to sky-rocket as the spring rolls on.

Cole Kantorski RHP / 1B / Calvert Hall College, MD / 2027Calvert Hall may have some questions to answer on the bump this spring, and the emergence of a physical right-hander in Cole Kantorski is a good starting point. Imposing at 6-foot-4, 205-pounds, Kantorski has a strong three-pitch mix that works all quadrants of the zone, ticking the fastball into the upper 80s with relative ease, mixing the slider away from right-handed batters and flashing a killed-spin changeup down. The bullpen at the showcase was advanced, and the actions on the bump seem to reflect a huge spring on the horizon for Kantorski.

Caleb Lambert OF / RHP / Archbishop Spalding, MD / 2028There were a ton of winners at this showcase, and the numbers speak volumes to that, however, none may have been bigger than the performance that Caleb Lambert put forth. The combination of physicality, athleticism, and strength on both sides of the ball should see the 6-foot-5, 200-pounder jump in this 2028 class, and potentially be a sneaky impact guy with Archbishop Spalding this spring. At the plate, the power is unquestioned, consistently showcasing present pull side strength with natural lift and evident homerun upside with quick, whippy barrel speed through. The arm strength stands out, running it up to 88 mph from the outfield and coupling that with a mid 80s fastball on the bump. If this talent transfers in-game, look out for this to be a huge riser throughout an already stacked 2028 class across Maryland.

Jake Lindsey 3B / 2B / Calvert Hall , MD / 2027I have seen Jake Lindsey countless times now, and watching the progression as he embarks on a huge junior campaign has been nothing short of special. The body has really added some eye-opening strength and the athleticism is starting to tick up as well, turning in a PR of 3.93 30-yard. The swing is certainly explosive, yet effortlessly controlled, showcasing present pull side power with the ability to turn the barrel at a high rate, notching a PR of 101.9 max exit velocity. The arm strength has always been there and got even better at this showcase, as Lindsey turned in yet another PR at 89 mph across the diamond. The journey has been a pleasure to watch, and look for a standout 2026 spring from Lindsey at Calvert Hall this spring.

Brady McNatt SS / 2B / Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, MD / 2028A player that we have seen a bunch already this preseason, McNatt has been a standout at each and every showcase we have seen him at, and nothing was different here. Possessing an athletic, wiry frame, McNatt is a hard-nosed, impact guy on both sides of the ball who has a bright future. Possessing “sneaky” juice at the dish, McNatt turned in a 95.9 mph max exit velocity that yields present doubles power with more to come. Defensively, the hands are smooth with quick-twitch actions that should see him stay up the middle in the future with foot speed that allows versatility. This is an under-the-radar 2028 quickly on the rise across Maryland.

Ethan Noyes SS / RHP / Calvert Hall College High School, MD / 2027The 2027 class at Calvert Hall is one of, if not the deepest across the state, with names like Dalton DePriest, Cole Kantorski, Drew Kittleberger, Jake Lindsey, Grayson Ryan, Ryder Sowa, and Anthony Williams (Just to name a few). You can now also add Ethan Noyes to that list. Advanced physicality in the 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame, the strength is unquestioned at the plate, consistently peppering pull side line drives during BP to the tune of a 97.8 mph max exit velocity, while averaging 88.7 mph. Fluid hands with some explosion through the zone, the power upside is evident and should only get better as the barrel feel increases. The run tool stands out as well, turning in a 3.97 30-yard that bodes well for versatility around the diamond. On the bump, the fastball got up to 85 mph on the day with plenty left in the tank, mixing a tight slider with feel and a really nice killed-spin changeup (1294 Avg. RPM). This is yet another impact 2027 at Calvert Hall who didn’t get a ton of action last spring, but will vie to be a big piece to add depth in 2026.

Jesse Orford C / OF / Bethesda-Chevy Chase High, MD / 2028A player unknown to most across the state will be unknown no longer, as Jesse Orford made a huge statement at this year’s MD Preseason All-State I. Like Lambert, look for Orford to rise considerably in the 2028 class following the preseason, and a huge spring on the horizon is unquestioned for the 6-foot-4, 180-pound switch-hitting catcher. Present barrel speed and strength from both sides of the plate, this is a can’t miss prospect across the state, and one that should be on a ton of college coaches radars this summer. Rhythmic, controlled actions at the plate with the ability to consistently slash line drives to all fields, this is a clear-cut high average type bat with power upside through the roof. Plenty of arm strength behind the dish (77 mph), coupled with quick footwork allows the upside to be high behind the plate as well.

| |
Donnie Rollin 3B / OF / Calvert Hall College High School, MD / 2029A player that our staff had yet to get eyes on, Rollin certainly made a lasting impression at this showcase, and showed impact ability in all facets. On the bump, the arm strength is evident, running the fastball in the low 80s with the ability to spin for strikes. Offensively, the hit tool is fairly advanced and the ability to utilize the whole field is intriguing. A more line drive type currently, you can see some doubles power on the horizon with more to come as the body matures. Defensively, the actions are smooth and the arm strength is evident, notching 87 mph across the diamond with carry. Yet another 2029 to circle in a deep class across Maryland and Delaware.
