2026 OUTLOOK
+ Northeast Jones enters the 2026 season coming off a strong 22–9–1 campaign that pushed into the third round of the 5A playoffs, and the Tigers return a core that has already proven it can compete deep into the postseason. Under head coach Hunter McKeivier, this group brings back a mix of physicality, versatility, and experience that should keep Northeast Jones firmly in the conversation within District 4.
The offense is built around a reliable and experienced senior class, starting with Jax Sullins (2026), who provides value behind the plate and in the infield. Sullins’ ability to handle the pitching staff while also contributing offensively gives the Tigers stability at one of the game’s most important positions. In the outfield, Kade Mozingo (2026) brings athleticism and consistency, projecting as a table-setter who can impact the game with both his bat and glove. His experience at the varsity level allows Northeast Jones to stay aggressive defensively while maintaining balance in the lineup.
Carter Wiginton (2027) adds flexibility as a true utility piece capable of moving around the field as needed, while Jasper Herrington (2027) continues to grow into a dependable presence in the middle infield. Herrington’s development will be key as Northeast Jones looks to maintain offensive rhythm throughout the order. Logen Aultman (2027) rounds out the returning position group, offering outfield depth and another developing bat that gives the Tigers options depending on matchup and game flow.
On the mound, Northeast Jones returns arms that logged meaningful innings a season ago. Asher McBride (2026) anchors the staff as a trusted option who has shown the ability to compete in high-leverage situations. Mozingo and Sullins both factor into the pitching mix as well, giving the Tigers multiple looks and the ability to manage workloads across the week. That versatility on the mound allows Northeast Jones to stay flexible during district play and postseason series.
Looking ahead, underclassman Devon Wilkins (2028) is a name to watch as a potential impact piece as the season progresses. His athleticism in the outfield gives the Tigers another developing option who could carve out a role as opportunities arise.
With a playoff-tested core, multiple two-way contributors, and a staff that brings back experience, Northeast Jones enters 2026 positioned to build on last season’s momentum. If the younger pieces continue to take steps forward and the pitching staff provides consistency, the Tigers have the makeup of a team capable of another deep postseason run in a competitive 5A landscape.
