2026 Spring Rankings Update: Class of 2026
March 18, 2026
The spring is nearing and our class rankings are due for an update. We begin with the senior class, a group we see little movement with compared to our last update, aside from a handful of risers gaining traction with the professional scouting community. Find out who grabbed offseason helium, along with the full list that now stands at 350 names, below...
Top 350 for the 2026 Class
Quick Overview
Not much has changed from November to now in order to make drastic changes with this group. C Sean Dunlap, the top-ranked prep catcher in the country, remains atop the list with Day 1 buzz entering his senior season. RHP Gannon Grant continues to grab helium as the top-ranked arm, a Center Grove product armed with a fastball up to 98, an easy plus slider, and is another Day 1 hopeful for this year's MLB Draft. SS Dylan Bowen and RHP Hudson Devaughan remain at No. 3 & No. 4, respectively, and are coveted prospects in their own regards who will look to further solidify their status this spring. Our most significant riser in this update sees his name enter the Top 5 for this first time, one of the bigger Midwest helium names, SS Caden Matusak. A Michigan recruit, Matusak had an outstanding showing at the Super 60 in order to warrant this move. Prep Baseball Vice President of Scouting, Shooter Hunt, highlighted Matusak after the Super 60, and here is what he had to say about the 6-foot-4, tooled-out shortstop :
"Sure to be one of the buzziest names coming out of the event after being lesser known amongst the scouts in attendance, Matusak was an intriguing prospect in all phases. At 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, his unteachable athleticism and frame are ultra-alluring, and he unleashed throws up to 96 mph across the diamond while moving gracefully with sure hands. At the dish, the right-handed hitter featured a reverse toe-tap with minor hand movement before looking to lift the ball out front. He stacked the stat sheet as a 6.6-runner with 103.9 mph max exit velocity and 394 ft. max distance, and still shows signs of considerable power advancements. In short, Matusak announced himself as a sleeper follow in the midwest, and given the attention that high school teammate Sean Dunlap is set to receive, he should get plenty of looks."

This lift causes a one-spot fall for RHP Aiden Smith, though he remains one of the more tantalizing arms in the class, and has real potential to jump if the velocity jumps he showed this winter are replicated this spring. Up to 96 at our Preseason Procase, Smith has legitamite top 5 round potential - whether this year or after three years in Lexington. His future teammates, RHP Sammy Swank, falls close behind as the No. 4 arm on our board, and the No. 7 overall prospect.

A trio of position players round out the top ten; a group that has been heralded as top-of-the-class prospects for nearly their entire high school careers in SS/3B Aiden Reynolds, OF Rob Czarniecki, and OF/3B Jake Winger. Falling just outside the top ten are three arms that will bring a host of scouts to the backstop for their starts this spring - and riser RHP Jaxon Lueken, an Indiana signee, leads the way in this update at No. 11. His potential future college teammate, RHP Collin Marcum, sees a one-spot jump to the No. 12 overall position, while LHP Beckett Doane remains the top-ranked lefty in the class at No. 13 overall.

We see four more key risers in this pre-spring update; all winners from our winter procase series. First, a pair of righties, with RHP Matthew Cook checking in at No. 17, and RHP Gavin Lykins moving up the board to No. 18 overall. Both showed well at our Preseason Procase with Cook working his unique-slot fastball up to 93 with the strike-throwing capabilities we've seen from him consistently on display, while Lykins makes a move due to the power fastball he showed, up to 96 in the preseason. OF Ian Taylor, a George Mason recruit, has gained traction with professional scouts after reaching a peak exit velocity of 108 mph at Illinois' Preseason Procase. Taylor, a proven in-game performer with exceptional rotational capabilities, rises 7 spots to the No. 20 overall spot in this update.

The most significant riser is RHP Jaden Norris, a Wabash Valley recruit who topped out at 95 mph at our Preseason Procase. Norris is a strong-framed right-hander who climbs 42 spots in this update, now regarded as the No. 37 overall prospect on our board.
