2026 OUTLOOK
+ Mt. Pleasant enters the 2026 season focused on steady progression after an 8–18 finish a year ago. Under head coach Lee Williams, the Tigers return a tight-knit core that features multiple two-way contributors and a strong 2027 class ready to take on larger leadership roles in Class A, District 10 competition.
The identity of this roster centers around versatility. Hunter Holt (2027) headlines the group as a true two-way piece who impacts the game at shortstop and on the mound. His ability to handle premium defensive responsibilities while serving as a primary arm gives Mt. Pleasant flexibility and competitive edge. Jackson Lindsey (2027) and Sheldon Christy (2027) round out a junior trio that can move around the diamond and factor into the pitching staff. That group’s development will largely dictate the Tigers’ ceiling this spring.
The 2026 class provides important experience and physicality. Carson Howell (2026) offers utility value and innings on the mound, while Zion Hollis (2026) brings size and strength at first base along with additional pitching depth. George Clinkscale (2026) adds a left-handed look on the mound, giving Mt. Pleasant matchup flexibility and balance within the staff.
On the pitching side, Holt projects as the go-to arm, while Bentley Conner (2028) emerges as a young left-hander with upside and long-term projection. Clinkscale complements that mix with another left-handed presence, creating different looks that should help the Tigers navigate district lineups more effectively.
The 2027 class, including Holt, Lindsey, Christy, and Logan Coyle, forms the backbone of the roster and provides continuity beyond this season. Their ability to produce consistently on both sides of the ball will be critical in turning competitive games into wins.
Underclass contributors such as Jahkai Amos, Bentley Conner, and Paxton Williams represent the next wave pushing for meaningful varsity innings. Their early involvement adds depth and developmental value to the program.
With multiple two-way options, returning experience across key positions, and a pitching staff that features both upperclass stability and younger upside, Mt. Pleasant enters 2026 aiming to take measurable steps forward. If the Tigers can establish consistent run production and define roles on the mound, they have the framework to improve within District 10 and become a tougher out throughout the spring.
