The Oklahoma high school baseball season kicks off on Feb. 23 for classes A and B and Mar. 1 for classes 2A-6A, opening day for regular season action under OSSAA regulations. Leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2025 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, counting down to the official Prep Baseball Oklahoma Preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Perennially, we’ve submitted a preseason questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Top Returners:

• Cam Hall: SR
  • Super athletic with some pop. Three pitch mix that has beaten proven teams on the mound.
• Reston Vickrey: SR, 3B/OF
  • Spot player last year but hit over .400. Has tremendous speed and is a tough competitor.
• Wyatt Pendegraph: JR, P/1B
  • Has true ace stuff and will be a district starter. High 80's fastball that can touch 90 with a tight slider paired with a new splinker changeup
• Kolt Ellison: JR, SS/P
  • High 80's arm with a wipeout slider. Freaky athlete.
    

Coach’s Insight: “Pitching, speed and defense will be strengths. What this group brings is a willingness to prove that they belong with the teams of the past from Blanchard. A weakness would be that we're inexperienced. They have watched teams in the past win, but they have to learn what it takes to win. This group needs to win early to build that belief that what we've been working for since August is obtainable.” – Josh Raney, head coach

Outlook: The Lions are coming off a 35-1, 4A State Title a season ago that saw them go undefeated in the Sooner State. This spring, we will see new faces around the diamond and on the mound that look to impact the varsity level for the first time. On the mound specifically, they will be led by Wyatt Pendergraph - the junior closed out the state title game and showed toughness in each opportunity we had to see him last spring. Cam Hall has shown big athleticism throughout his game with massive upside. Offensively, the names have changed but the Lions always find a way to create offense, score runs in bunches, and Coach Raney and his staff have developed hitters that understand their skillset and produce at all levels. In 2026, there will be inexperience at the varsity level, but expect Blanchard to do what they have done time and time again as they reload and continue to develop throughout the spring to once again contend for a 4A Title in May.
