Emilio Alonso stepped onto the mound in relief, throwing two hitless and scoreless frames while striking out three to shut down the Bulldogs' late threats. The story of the game was the dominance of senior Jack Stoner, who threw a masterpiece for the Gaels. Stoner tossed a three-hit, complete-game shutout, racking up six strikeouts and surrendering zero walks to keep the Cougars completely stymied. Matheus finished 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, and two runs scored, supplying the critical punch to match the Chargers' potent offense.
