Illinois Scouting Staff

With another week in the books, our staff is updating the Power 25 after an eventful week of games. There is plenty of movement throughout, which can be found below - along with one new team in the mix.

+ No. 1 St. Laurence (20-1) holds down our top-spot as they went a perfect 4-0, taking down DePaul College Prep twice (17-3, 13-2) and Fenwick twice (16-1, 19-1) - outscoring their opponents 65-7.

No. 4 Huntley (17-2) and No. 5 Lockport (14-7) both remain in their respective positions, as the Red Raiders went 4-1 last week and the Porters 4-0.

Rising

+ No. 2 Lincoln-Way East (18-1): The Griffins are climbing one spot as they went a perfect 4-0 last week, seeing wins over Bradley-Bourbonnais 9-2, Joliet Catholic 4-2 and Lincoln-Way Central twice (4-0, 7-4). They've been one of the hottest teams in the state so far this spring and continue to climb as a result.

+ No. 6 Brother Rice (13-8): The Crusaders are rising a spot in this update after a 3-1 week, highlighted by a conference win over Mount Carmel 4-1. + No. 8 Lane Tech (16-4): The Champions are rolling with a 15-game winning streak, and they went a perfect 5-0 this past week. Their biggest win came over Maine South 5-0, but they also won twice over Taft (5-0 & 11-0), beat Whitney Young 7-2 and Lake View 20-0.
