The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Minnesota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the North Star State.

Each week we will be releasing our Power Rankings, Scout Blog, Diamond Notes, and Player of The Week, covering all the bases. Today, we look at the scores from our teams in our Power Rankings.

NOTES

+ No. 2 Cretin-Derham Hall dropped its second straight, falling 3-2 to Roseville and moving to 3-3 on the season. The Raiders grabbed a 2-1 lead in the fourth with small ball execution, getting a squeeze from Mason Lewandoski (2028, IF, Uncommitted) followed by an RBI single from Torin Tompkins (2027, OF, Uncommitted), but could not hold it late.

+ No. 4 Chaska continues to look the part, handling Chanhassen 6-1 to stay unbeaten. Owen Strey (2026, SS/RHP, Creighton) and Matthew Welter (2026, 1B/RHP, Augustana) powered the offense, each leaving the yard. Welter drove in four and added value on the mound, working four innings while allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven. Chaska moves to 5-0.

+ No. 5 Andover dropped its second straight, this time a 5-1 loss to Champlin Park. Danny Scheller (2026, OF, SIUE) provided the lone run, finishing 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

+ No. 9 Prior Lake took control early and never let up in a 12-0 win over Lakeville South in five innings. Tyler Carlson (2027, OF, Uncommitted) made an impact in limited chances, going 1-for-1 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored. Jaymin Eischens (2026, IF, Minnesota-Dulutu) added a 2-for-4 day with a double and two runs. On the mound, Mason Golberg (2027, LHP, Uncommitted) worked four innings, allowing two hits while striking out four to earn the win. Prior Lake is now 5-2.
