Texas Pitcher & Hitter of the Week (Week 9)

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Hitter & Pitcher of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state.
Thank you to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.
Let's take a look at the Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for Week 9 (Apr 13-Apr 18).
HITTER OF THE WEEK

Kason Ficarra SS / OF / Cinco Ranch, TX / 2026Ficarra had a very productive week at the plate for cinco Ranch in their 2 wins. The Angelina recruit had 5 hits, including a HR, a 3B and 5 RBIs. He also scored 4 runs himself and stole 2 bags. |
PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Landon Brown RHP / 3B / Iowa Colony, TX / 2026Brown has always had a quality arsenal on the mound, but this year it has ticked up and really opened eyes. He has been mostly 94-96 in game action this year after being up to 97.7 in his bullpen at the Super 60. He pairs that with a plus SL and a quality CH. This past tuesday, he tossed a 7 inning shutout with 16 strikeouts. No Walks, no runs and 2 hits. He was in control the entire time, getting whiffs on all of his 4 pitches. Big time arm that continues to show polish.
