This Monday, Prep Baseball headed to Magnuson Park for an intriguing matchup between Bishop Blanchet and Lakeside. Both teams had the offenses clicking at different points in the game, with Blanchet winning by a final score of 7-4, taking their overall record to 8-5. Below are scouting notes on standout prospects from both teams.

Bishop Blanchet vs. Lakeside (4.13.26)

Bishop Blanchet

'27 OF Will Prinz (Uncommitted)
The Future Games alum was the star of the game in this one, reaching base in all 5 of his plate apperances from the leadoff spot. Prinz started the game off in a loud way with a solo home run to LCF, and he was only just getting started. He nearly left the yard in his next AB, settling for a long 2-run double. He then doubled again before drawing a walk and an IBB in his final two plate appearances. The swing carries the same sudden turn with some loft and bat speed through the zone, punishing pitches in the middle of the plate all game long. The speed and smooth glove was also shown in CF defensively. Prinz finished 3-3 with 2 runs and 3 RBI, and is a top-end uncommitted junior in the state remaining on the board.

'27 RHP Leo Stefonick (Uncommitted)
Seen most recently at last winter's PNW Preseason All-State, Stefonick showed well on the bump, carrying over a strong start of 6 innings scoreless last week. The long-limbed, lean righty worked through a steady wind with a longer, sweeping arm action into a 3/4 to low 3/4 slot release. The fastball sat 84-86 MPH early, paired with a SL at 72-74 MPH that he landed in all counts and a CH at 77-78 MPH that was mixed in regularly as well. The strike throwing ability really stood out in this one, allowing no walks in 7 IP while striking out 6 batters. He ran into a bit of trouble in the later innings but was able to grit it through to throw a CG and earn the win, totalling just 88 pitches/57 strikes. Arm to circle for college coaches.

'27 1B Kellan McQuiston (Uncommitted)
McQuiston has hit exceptionally well so far in 2026 and carried it over to a strong offensive showing in this game, finishing 1-3 with a triple and a walk. The lone hit nearly left the yard to deep RCF as one of the hardest-hit balls of the game. The lefty sets in an upright, slightly open stance, maintaining a tighter coil with a S2L path and loft through the zone. He also made the routine play at 1B defensively, and may carry enough athleticism to play a corner OF role as well.

'26 INF Will Condon (Uncommitted)
Though he wasn't rewarded for most of the game, Condon laced multiple line drives offensively and finished 1-4 on Monday. The compact-framed righty worked through a fundamentally sound swing, showcasing an understanding of the strike zone and knack for jumping on pitches in fastball counts. The frame moved well laterally, profiling well at 2B. The uncommitted senior should see more success if he has more AB's like he did in this one, and has produced in the three hole for Blanchet.

Lakeside

'26 OF Jai Penalver (Cornell Academic Commit)
Seen at a Prep Baseball showcase last summer, Penalver had the big swing of the afternoon for the Lions with a towering 2-run homer over the left field fence. A physical righty with a stocky-strong frame, Penalver carries a loose, whippier barrel through the zone, staying connected between his upper and lower half with strength through contact. The senior finished 1-3 from the cleanup spot. Penalver also got the start in CF, and though he likely projects more to a corner in the future he made every play that came his way.

'26 INF Sid Suri (Uncommitted)
The leadoff man for the Lions delivered the first XBH of the afternoon, sparking the offense in an attempt to rally late. The compact-strong senior stayed on a pitch away and lifted it down the RF line for his double. Suri later added a sac fly, finishing 1-3 with an RBI on the day. He also made multiple quality digs at 3B defensively, showing a strong arm across the dirt with carry on the longer throw. Suri then came in as the last relief arm on the mound with a low-80's FB. Well-rounded look.

'28 OF/LHP Griffin Gregory (Uncommitted)
A 6'1 sophomore who has been seen at multiple invite-only showcases in recent months, Gregory had some mixed results in this game but flashed potential to monitor moving forward. The lefty had a shorter stint on the mound but struck out 2 in 1.1 IP, throwing a FB & CH that had heavier action at times. Gregory also contributed from the bottom part of the lineup, dropping in a single to the big part of the field and scoring a run in the later innings. As the frame continues to develop, we'd expect the sophomore to be a varsity regular in the years to come.
