Throughout the high school season, we will recognize a Mizuno Player of the Week and Mizuno Pitcher of the Week. Each week, standout performances from both position players and pitchers across the state will be highlighted as players continue to produce eye-catching results. This season, one Player of the Week and one Pitcher of the Week will be selected based on nominations submitted by high school coaches throughout Mississippi. MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Eli Hicks SS / 2B / SUMRALL HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2026 Eli Hicks (Sumrall HS) turned in a huge week at the plate, going 6-for-10 (.600 avg) with two doubles, a triple, and two home runs. He drove in eight runs and scored six times, consistently producing for the Bobcats offense this past week.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Paxton Wright RHP / 3B / Amory, MS / 2027 Paxton Wright (Amory), an Itawamba CC recruit, delivered a dominant outing on the mound, tossing a complete-game no-hitter in a win over 4A No. 1 Mooreville. The right-hander went seven innings, allowing no hits while walking three and striking out 14, filling up the zone with 67 of his 98 pitches going for strikes.
