CHSAA Players of the Week: April 6-11

Caleb Dameron
Prep Baseball Colorado Staff

Each week during the high school season, the Prep Baseball Colorado staff will be announcing our 'Player of the Week' award for that particular week. Numerous players from across the state continue to perform and put up numbers on a week-to-week basis, though only one athlete can take home the 'hitter' or 'pitcher' award each week. Below you'll see which players have earned our 'Player of the Week' honors this spring season.

NOTE: These submissions were provided from high school coaches and others from around our state. If you are a interested in nominating a player, please contact Marc Wagner ([email protected]).

CHSAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: April 6-11

PITCHER OF THE WEEK:

Landry Warner RHP / Lutheran, CO / 2027

Warner continues a dominant run on the mound after going 6 innings against a ranked Discovery Canyon squad last week, allowing zero earned runs while striking out a staggering 16 hitters in the win. He also walked just one batter in the outing.

Warner has now picked up three straight wins for the Lutheran Lions, a stretch in which he’s struck out 32 hitters across 15.2 innings with just 3 earned runs allowed and only 3 walks, which included another win over a ranked Vista Peak team.

Warner is a surging uncommitted arm worth a close watch in 2026. The 6-foot-2 right-hander features long levers and runs his fastball into the upper 80s.

HITTER OF THE WEEK:

Sam Skubic C / 1B / Boulder, CO / 2027

Skubic is a physical catcher who put together an outstanding week at the plate. In just three games, the uncommitted junior went 10-for-15 with a home run, 4 doubles, 2 triples, 10 RBI, and 2 stolen bases, helping lead the Boulder Panthers to a 2-1 week.

Skubic is now leading his 5A program with a .439 average, 3 home runs, 2 triples, 5 doubles, and a 1.409 OPS across 49 plate appearances to begin the spring. He also shows clean actions behind the plate and has the ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball, making him a close follow as a top uncommitted backstop in Colorado.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Anthony Misch, Beau Friesen, Landon Kennell, Bryce Jackson, Andrew Henderson, Silas Meuli, Dane Dial, Tranner Craytor, Ezekiel Maddux
