Quiet confidence in the box, that looks to hit early in the count.
Playing a pivotal role as a freshman both in the line up and on the mound.

2026 OF Sam Kunz connects here again to keep things alive in the 7th.
Gets instant impact w/ an accurate barrel through the zone.
Had a put out from CF as well, athletic defender that will make an impact early at the next level.

Key Moments:
The game started off with a first pitch double down the line by Sam Kunz. Freshman, Holden Borland worked out of the jam with a double play. From there the War Eagles would get on the board in the first after Bresden Fabrikiewicz came up with a knock with 2 outs, followed by another single by Holden Borland. Then Young Harris commit, Walker Clark worked a 8+ pitch AB and won it on a 4 hole single for an RBI. Borland settled in on the mound for a bit then Sam Kunz connected on a tough pitch at the bottom of the zone and sent it over the RF wall to put North Atlanta up 2-1. The War Eagles got the lead back on an error and then Ryan Edwards put a ball over the left wall to make it 4-3. Junior Jaxson Baxter decided he wanted to join the him run part and hit one to deep left center to tie the game in the 4th. Benson Holthouse would come in and shut things down on the mound to allow the offense to get the lead back in the 5th. Walker Clark smoked a 2B off the right field wall then Bryan Smith worked a deep count to draw a walk. Jack Farlow delivered the go ahead single to give South Forsyth the lead 5-4. They would end up going up 8-6 after a bunt by Brady Flock that forced an error. Sam Kunz would add a 3rd hit and a 2nd home run in the top of the 7th to fight back, but Holthouse would finish it out to get in the win and one step closer to clinching the 2 seed in the playoffs.
Huddy’s Takeaways:
As the regular season begins to come to and end we are chasing around a wide variety of prospects and high stakes games across the state. Freshman making an impact are some of those players on that list and Holden Borland has done just that for South Forsyth. He found his role as one of their top arms rather quickly and settled into the heart of the line up as well. We have seen a lot of him over the last 2 years or so and most recently on the Junior Future Games team. Needless to say he has made some big strides with a fastball that sat 87-90, topping out at 91. He was hitting 90 consistently in the first and rarely threw a ball under 88. The offspeed was there as well with a CH that has a chance to be a huge pitch for him. He also added a pair knocks at the plate. As for North Atlanta, uncommitted senior outfielder Sam Kunz did it all last night. He led off the game with a 2B and followed that up with 2 home runs. There is easy athleticism throughout his game with added strength that has really helped him at the plate. He has been a steady performer over the years and has a chance to make an impact at the next level as a freshman.
