Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 6

Each week during the high school season, we will recognize the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for standout performances across the state. Throughout the season, numerous athletes continue to post impressive numbers both at the plate and on the mound. Based on nominations submitted by high school coaches statewide, one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week will be selected. A special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring these awards throughout the season.

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Gaven French RHP / SS / Heritage, TN / 2027Gavin French, a University of Tennessee recruit, delivered an elite two-way performance, dominating on the mound and at the plate. He tossed a complete-game shutout, working 7.0 innings while allowing just four hits and one walk, striking out 14. Offensively, French was just as impactful, going 9-for-20 with a double, four home runs, 11 RBIs, and nine runs scored, showcasing his power and ability to change the game in multiple ways. |
MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Harrison Pollina RHP / OF / Arlington, TN / 2026Harrison Pollina, a University of Cincinnati recruit, turned in a dominant outing against rival Collierville, tossing a complete-game one-hitter. Pollina worked all seven innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out 10, controlling the game from start to finish and leading his team to a big win. |
