NOTABLE RECAPS FROM FRIDAY

#20 Jordan (4) vs. #7 American Fork (5)

The American Fork Cavemen outlasted the Jordan Beetdiggers in a pulse-pounding 5–4 extra-inning battle, finally breaking the deadlock in the eighth frame. Bode Gaggero acted as the hero for the Cavemen, showcasing his two-way versatility by launching a solo home run and later taking the mound to secure the victory. While American Fork’s Cruz Adams turned in a dominant starting performance with nine strikeouts over seven innings, Jordan’s Dallon Molder provided the counter-punch with a towering home run of his own. The Beetdiggers remained a threat throughout the contest, fueled by a multi-hit game from Easton Wartman and an early RBI double from Kade Carter, but they struggled to contain River Litke, who drove in three of American Fork's five runs. In a game defined by narrow margins and clutch relief, the Cavemen’s ability to manufacture a final run in the eighth allowed them to escape with the gritty home win. They will play Game 3 later today to determine the series winner in a prime 6A matchup.

Top Performers

#12 Lehi (7) vs. #10 Skyridge (6)

The Lehi Pioneers combined elite plate discipline with a perfect afternoon from Cole Ybarra to narrowly edge out the Skyridge Falcons in a 7–6 thriller. The Pioneers’ offense was characterized by extreme patience, drawing a staggering 10 walks to keep the bases loaded throughout the contest. Cole Ybarra was the driving force, turning in a flawless 4-for-4 performance with two doubles and three RBIs, while Jake Welch provided the game’s biggest highlight with a solo home run. Skyridge stayed within striking distance thanks to multi-hit efforts from Zayden Bye and a two-RBI double from Boston Sundberg, but they struggled with command on the mound. After Boston Gramse provided two vital scoreless innings of relief to stabilize the middle frames, Welch transitioned from shortstop to the mound in the seventh. He put on a dominant closing display, striking out the side to silence the Falcons' final threat and secure the series sweep.

Top Performers

Cedar Valley (11) vs. Copper Hills (6)

The Cedar Valley Aviators snapped a recent skid with a dominant offensive display, powering past the Copper Hills Grizzlies in an 11–6 victory. The Aviators’ bats were electric from the jump, but the story of the game was Talen Ryan, who spearheaded the attack with a massive 3-for-4 performance that included a home run, a double, and three RBIs. Rigdon Peck set the table effectively, scoring three times and adding a triple, while Wrigs Cluff was perfect at the plate to keep the pressure on.

Copper Hills showed plenty of fight early, particularly behind the effort of Eli Steffey, who reached base in all three plate appearances and drove in a run. Ali Carrillo Jr. and Reese Dubach each chipped in two RBIs to keep the Grizzlies within striking distance through the middle frames. However, the game shifted once Hunter Dahl took over on the mound for Cedar Valley. Dahl delivered five focused innings of relief, fanning five batters and allowing just one earned run to stifle the Copper Hills comeback and secure the signature home win.

Union (7) vs. Canyon View (9)

The Canyon View Falcons pulled off a stunning late-inning comeback to defeat the Union Cougars in a 9–7 extra-inning thriller. Down to their final outs, the Falcons erased a multi-run deficit with a three-run seventh inning before walking it off with two runs in the eighth. The hero of the day was Jack Merrill, who delivered a massive performance on both sides of the ball; Merrill kept the Falcons in the hunt with a triple and a double at the plate, then transitioned to the mound to toss 4.1 innings of shutdown relief, surrendering zero earned runs and only one hit to cool off the Cougars' bats.

Union appeared to be in control early, fueled by a relentless attack led by Dylan Watahomigie and Davin Brotherson, who combined for five hits and three runs. However, Canyon View found their spark through a Walk-off home run from Preston Higgins and a perfect 2-for-2 day from Noah Sandoval, who reached base four times and drove in two with a pair of doubles. Despite a gritty start from Union's Tyson Marx, the Falcons' late-inning poise and Merrill’s dominant relief outing allowed Canyon View to snap their losing streak and secure a signature region win in dramatic fashion.
