Texas Diamond Notes: Week 5

The Texas Diamond Notes will focus on highlighting some of the top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Tuesday evening of the high school season that had impressive weeks during their team's games.
A special thank you to all of the high school coaches for nominating their players.
WEEK 5 DIAMOND NOTES
+ Jason Alaniz, Outfield (Robert Vela, 2027):
Alaniz went 2-for-3 at the plate, hitting a home run and driving in two. He notably hit a walk-off home run against McAllen Nikki Rowe High School in the eighth inning.
+ Keno Castillo, 2B (Ennis, 2026):
Castillo batted 5-for-7, hitting one double and one triple. He tallied four RBI, four runs scored, and four stolen bases, improving his season stats to a perfect 26-for-26 on stolen base attempts.
+ Tyler Chapman, P/3b (Forney, 2026):
Chapman pitched a 69-pitch complete game, throwing seven innings and allowing one earned run on four hits and zero walks while striking out four batters. On offense, he went 4-for-7, hitting three doubles and collecting three RBI.
+ Blake Chisholm, 2B (North Shore, 2026):
Chisholm went 3-for-7 at the plate, hitting one triple and one home run. He also recorded two RBI, three runs scored, and two walks.
+ Ty Higginbotham, LHP (Atascocita, 2026; LSU-Eunice JC):
He earned a win by pitching six innings on just 76 pitches. He faced the minimum of 18 hitters, allowing zero runs on one hit and one walk while striking out nine.
+ Lincoln Lamm, 1B/P (Monterey, 2026):
Lamm batted 6-for-8, collecting three singles, one double, and two home runs. He hit both of his home runs in the same game and finished the week with five RBI, six runs scored, two walks, and one hit-by-pitch.
*Lamm was named Hitter of the Week for Week 5*
+ Dominic Naylor, Pitcher (Cedar Park, 2027):
Naylor pitched a five-inning perfect game on March 17th, striking out 12 batters without allowing a hit, walk, or run. For the season, he has pitched 22 innings with a 1.27 ERA, a .955 WHIP, and a .122 batting average against, striking out 49 batters while allowing nine hits, five runs (four earned), and 12 walks.
+ Gabriel Roberts, Catcher (Manvel, 2026):
Roberts went 5-for-10 at the plate with one home run and seven RBI. For the season, he is batting .340 with a 1.016 OPS, two home runs, and 15 RBI.
+ Wade Sebek, P (Cy-Fair, 2026; Panola JC):
Sebek threw a complete game shutout no-hitter over seven innings. He allowed zero runs and one walk while striking out 14.
*Sebek was named Pitcher of the Week for Week 5*
+ Jackson Wooten, SS (Atascocita, 2027; Kentucky):
Wooten posted a .625 batting average, a .667 on-base percentage, and a 2.042 OPS by going 5-for-8 against Summer Creek. His performance included two home runs, four RBI, four runs scored, one walk, and four stolen bases.
