Q&A With Arkansas Recruit Logen Doran
March 10, 2026
We recently caught up with Logen Doran (Waiakea HS, HI | 2027) to discuss his commitment to the University of Arkansas and his journey through the recruiting process. A premier talent out of the Big Island, Doran was already widely regarded as one of the state's top prospects, but his recruitment officially took off following a loud performance on the national stage. With his decision now made, Doran reflected on the importance of family guidance, the breakout velocity that put him on the radar, and his desire to develop both his game and his character in Fayetteville.
‘27 Logen Duran (HI) put on a nice hitting display in workouts & comes out showing big arm talent on the mound.

OUR Q&A
PB: What were your expectations regarding the recruiting process, and what were you looking for in a college program to continue your baseball career?
Logen: The main thing I was looking for in a college was somewhere that was going to not only help me become better as a player, but better as a person as well, and be able to get me to the next level.
PB: What do you like most about the program you chose, and what were the key factors in making your decision?
Logen: A few things I liked the most were the community and the people who supported Arkansas; they were so welcoming to me even as a recruit when I visited. Key factors included how well I got along with the coaches and how well I felt I would fit in with the community. Another factor was the success rate the coaches have in developing their players.
PB: What advice would you give to young baseball players striving to get where you are?
Logen: My main advice for younger kids is to listen to your parents because they always have your best interests at heart. I wish someone had told me that sooner. In the moment, you may think they’re just always on your back, but they’re only there because they want to see you succeed.
PB: Did location or distance from home play a factor in your decision?
Logen: No, the distance was never really a worry for me.
PB: When did the recruiting process really start to heat up for you, and where did the school you committed to first see you play?
Logen: The first time Arkansas saw me play was at the Future Games in Georgia. I would say the recruiting process started to heat up the most during those games, specifically because I hit 95 mph.
PB: Was there a particular Prep Baseball tournament or showcase that helped accelerate your recruiting process? If so, how?
Logen: I would say the Future Games again, due to the fact that I was hitting 95 mph there.
PB: Who is the best player you have faced in your state, and what makes them a tough opponent?
Logen: The toughest opponent I’ve faced is Kahanu Martinez from Saint Louis. He is an amazing hitter who battles and runs my pitch count up every time we go against each other.
PB: If you could steal any tool or quality from another player in the state, what would it be and who would it be from?
Logen: If I could steal anything from anyone, it would be the quality of my teammate, Tycen Baruela. He is one of the most goal-driven players I know and always strives to push himself and the rest of our team to be better. He is not just an amazing teammate, but an amazing friend as well.
PB: Who is the next talented young player to keep an eye on out of your high school or travel program?
Logen: The next talented player who will definitely be a force to be reckoned with is Knox Kailimai. He is a 5’8" lefty already throwing in the low 80s, and once he fills out his frame and refines his technique, he will be an absolute unit.
PB: At what point in your career did you realize you were a college-caliber player and become serious about taking your game to the next level?
Logen: The moment I felt I had the best chance at making it to the next level was probably my freshman year at the Future Games when I hit 90 mph. Once I hit that mark, I realized I could only go up from there.
PB: What is the most memorable moment in your baseball career to this point?
Logen: My most memorable moment was the time I hit 95 mph, specifically because I had my good friends there to support me when I achieved it. That made it so much better.
PB: Preview your high school team’s season for us. How do you feel your team will be?
Logen: I feel like, as a team, we have a very high chance of being a contender for States again this year.
