Rising Stars ID: Early Exposure & Education at The Yard House
The Rising Stars ID returned to The Yard House in Wilmington, NC, providing a detailed evaluation opportunity for the next wave of talent. Designed specifically for players not yet in high school, this year’s event featured members of the 2030 and 2031 graduating classes — giving them an early introduction to the workout environment, advanced metrics, and the evaluation process.
The event followed a pro-style format, beginning with athletic testing. Players ran a laser-timed 30-yard sprint using VALD Athletic timing systems and recorded jump metrics on VALD jump mats, offering verified data on speed and explosiveness. Beyond performance, the testing segment also served as an educational opportunity, helping young athletes understand how measurable tools factor into long-term development.
Position players moved into a defensive workout at their primary positions, where arm strength and defensive actions were evaluated. During batting practice, TrackMan captured ball flight data while BLAST Motion measured swing metrics, giving players and families insight into bat speed, efficiency, and contact quality.
Pitchers finished the day with controlled bullpens, with TrackMan providing objective data on velocity and pitch movement.
In the coming days, we will break down top performers, statistical leaderboards, and emerging names to follow from the 2030 and 2031 classes. The Rising Stars ID continues to serve as both an introduction to the showcase environment and a valuable learning experience built around objective data and long-term development.
