2026 Nebraska High School Team Preview: Bennington

Dayne McNaughton
State Director, Prep Baseball Nebraska

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is present throughout Nebraska. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the Cornhusker State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons at Werner Park at the NSAA championship games, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to shine a spotlight on all teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Nebraska.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Diamond Notes and Player of The Week, covering all the bases across the state of Nebraska.

TEAM OUTLOOK

“Coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history, and setting a new class B wins record with 29, we look to continue to improve each day and work towards another successful run. Coach Heese retiring after 16 years, and me taking over for first year as spring head coach will undoubtedly be a challenge and will I look forward to it..I also understand that I have a lot to learn on the go. We should have some really good pitching depth again this year and I think we have the talent to be very competitive this season. Like any new season, you can always look at what you have on paper and try and gauge where you’ll be. But the real questions don’t get answered until guys are out there and face some adversity. I’m excited for our team and I think we should definitely be very competitive this year. ” – Tim Jacoby , head coach
