NOTABLE RECAPS FROM SATURDAY

#7 American Fork (8) vs. #20 Jordan (2)

The American Fork Cavemen flexed their muscles and rode a dominant complete-game performance from Kenny Johnson to secure a convincing 8–2 victory over Jordan. While the Beetdiggers actually out-hit the Cavemen 6–5, American Fork made every single hit count, launching two massive three-run home runs to provide all the separation Johnson would need. Talon Willardson and Jens Price provided the fireworks, combining for six RBIs on just two swings of the bat, while Cache Poulson added a triple to keep the pressure on.

On the mound, Kenny Johnson was the definition of a workhorse. He went the distance, scattering six hits over seven innings and allowing only two earned runs while fanning five. Jordan saw multi-hit efforts from Jayden Montoya and Kade Carter, and Kody Kemp added a double, but they struggled to find the timely hit to break through Johnson's steady command. Joseph Peak battled through six innings for Jordan, but the long ball proved to be the Beetdiggers' undoing in this high-stakes non-region clash.

Top Performers

Brighton (4) vs. Bountiful (5)

The Bountiful Redhawks proved that efficiency trumps volume, narrowly defeating the Brighton Bengals in a 5–4 nail-biter. Despite being out-hit 11–7, the Redhawks maximized their opportunities on the basepaths and capitalized on three Brighton errors to secure the win. Hudson Malmrose was the engine of the Bountiful offense, racking up two doubles and an RBI, while Joshua Haslam provided the heavy lifting with two critical runs batted in.

Brighton’s lineup was relentless, seeing multi-hit performances from Ellis, Fry, and Raulston, but they struggled to find the knockout punch with runners in scoring position. On the mound, Bountiful's Quintin Garff delivered four focused innings of relief, surrendering only one earned run to bridge the gap and earn the victory. Brighton’s starter (#34) turned in a gritty complete-game effort with six strikeouts, but the combination of Bountiful’s aggressive base-running—totaling five stolen bags—and timely extra-base hits allowed the Redhawks to defend their home turf.
