Notable Recaps from Friday

Gulf Shores (12) vs. Spanish Fort (9)
Gulf Shores claimed the decisive Game 3 of a key area series with a 12-9 win over Spanish Fort on Friday, taking the tiebreaker after the teams split the first two matchups. The Dolphins jumped out early but found themselves trailing 8-4 after four innings before mounting a comeback. Gulf Shores responded with a six-run stretch across the sixth inning and beyond to flip the game and regain control. John Luke Stephens led the charge offensively with a perfect 3-for-3 day, reaching base multiple times and driving in runs, while Matthew Sylkatis added a big performance with three RBIs. Gulf Shores finished with 15 hits and applied pressure throughout with quality at-bats and aggressive baserunning. Woods McElroy delivered a key outing in relief to help stabilize things on the mound, allowing just one run over 3.2 innings as the Dolphins held on to secure the series-clinching win.

Faith Academy (10, 15) vs. Mobile Christian (3, 6)
After dropping Game 1 in extra innings on Thursday, No. 1 Faith Academy responded in emphatic fashion on Friday, sweeping a doubleheader over Mobile Christian with 10-3 and 15-6 victories to secure the series. In Game 2, the Rams broke things open early with a five-run second inning and continued to add on, highlighted by a strong offensive showing and a complete-game effort from Christian Freeman, who allowed three runs while striking out seven. Eli Williams led the way with three RBIs, while multiple hitters contributed multi-hit performances. Faith Academy carried that momentum into Game 3, erupting for a six-run first inning and never looking back. The Rams piled up 12 hits, with Braydon Wright and Bryce Turner each driving in three runs and five different players recording multi-hit games. Across both games, Faith Academy’s offense was relentless, combining for 25 runs and consistently applying pressure at the plate and on the bases to bounce back and take control of the area series.

Bayside Academy (16, 4) vs. Satsuma (4, 2)
After dropping Game 1 earlier in the week, Bayside Academy responded by winning Games 2 and 3 to secure the area series over Satsuma. In Game 2, the Admirals erupted for 10 runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 16-4 run-rule win. Eighth-grader Cooper Mason led the way from the leadoff spot, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs, while Noah Cain and Will Fitzhugh each homered, collected multiple hits, and drove in three runs. Wyatt Williams went the distance on the mound to cap the dominant performance. Bayside carried that momentum into Game 3, earning a 4-2 win behind a dominant outing from Mason, who struck out 10 over five innings while allowing just two runs. The Admirals broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Cain and added an insurance run later in the inning to secure the win. Across both games, Bayside combined timely offense with strong pitching to bounce back and take control of the series.

American Christian (5) vs. Hoover (2)
American Christian Academy picked up a 5-2 win over Hoover on Friday, using timely extra-base hits and a strong pitching effort to secure the victory. Hoover struck first on a solo home run from Jake Fridley in the third, but ACA responded in the fourth with back-to-back doubles from Drew Jackson and Britton Taft to take a 3-1 lead. The Patriots added insurance in the seventh on a two-run home run from Caleb McAusland to extend the advantage. McAusland led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance, including a home run, while driving in two runs alongside Taft. On the mound, BJ Garth earned the win with four solid innings, allowing just one run on three hits. ACA backed its pitching staff with clean defense and a double play to help close out the win.

Tuscaloosa County (9) vs. Northridge (5)
Tuscaloosa County defeated Northridge 9-5 on Friday, jumping out early and maintaining control throughout. The Wildcats set the tone in the first inning on a home run from Jashaun Moten and continued to build their lead across the next two frames, capitalizing on timely hits and a Northridge error to extend the advantage. Tuscaloosa County finished with 11 hits in the win, with Wilson Patrick leading the way with a 3-for-4 performance. Moten drove in three runs, while Dillon Dubose and Dylan Carlisle also contributed multi-hit efforts. The Wildcats applied pressure on the bases as well, swiping four bags. Brooks Mellown earned the win on the mound, while freshman Sam Ridley came on in relief to secure the win tossing 4.2 IP and not allowing an earned run.

Bob Jones (4) vs. Homewood (3)
Bob Jones earned a 4-3 walk-off win over Homewood on Friday, scoring the decisive run in the bottom of the eighth. In a tightly contested game, Bob Jones struck first in the third before Homewood responded to tie it midway through. The Patriots traded runs and remained deadlocked late until Micah Sigler delivered a walk-off RBI single in extras. Joshua Wilhide led the offense with a 3-for-4 performance and two RBIs, while Bob Jones showed patience at the plate with six walks. On the mound, Graham Segraves set the tone with five scoreless innings, and Joseph Waxmonsky earned the win in relief after allowing just unearned runs over three innings.
