April 2, 2026
The Oregon Scouting Blog provides insider information and scouting notes from the Prep Baseball Staff during the OSAA season. This running blog will feature information on underclass prospects, unsigned seniors, draft prospects, and anything else that is notable. We will provide a wide range of information, including player evaluations, velocities, pop times, home to first times, and more.
This week, Prep Baseball Oregon was in attendance for a big time matchup as Clackamas hosted South Salem. Clackamas, the newly crowned number one team in our latest 2026 Power 25 Team Rankings, looked the part of one of the best programs in the area with a convincing victory. Both teams had exceptional talent all over the diamond. Below, we highlight some of those players, with scouting notes and takeaways from Tuesday's contest.
Clackamas vs South Salem (3.31.26)
Clackamas
'27 RHP Cade King (Washington Commit)
The Future Games alum and a big winner of 2025 was on top of his game in this one, looking extremely impressive in three innings on the mound against a highly talented lineup. The 6'2, 190 pound arm looked confident and smooth, riding a strong lower half downhill with an arsenal that was overpowering at times. The fastball sat 87-89 MPH with some cut at times. He also mixed in two distinct breaking balls with a CB at 70-74 MPH and a cutter-like SL at 78-80 MPH. The Washington commit was in total control and missed plenty of bats, with a final line of 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 7 K. Must-follow arm in the state class.

'27 OF Jonah Lam (Uncommitted)
Lam has been a key part of Clackamas' offensive success in 2026, providing a consistent bat and speedy presence at the top of the lineup. The uncommitted junior was a table setter in this game as well, reaching base twice with a single and a walk and adding two runs scored as well. Lam's swing carries adjustability with a more compact turn through the zone and a firm front side at contact. He did well to stay on top of a high pitch for his single. He also made his speed felt with 2 key stolen bases. Important piece for the Cavaliers this spring.
'27 LHP Ben Foglio (Washington Commit)
One of many highly touted arms that makes up one of the best HS pitching staffs we've seen in years, Foglio's arm talent was on display in a relief role on Tuesday. Foglio creates some deception from the left side with a low hand break into a higher 3/4 slot release, with a fastball sitting 84-86 MPH in this look. The curveball was mixed in at 72-74 MPH as his primary offspeed pitch. Foglio generated a ton of swing and miss on pitches in the zone, totalling 5 K's over 4 innings of work. He also added a base hit offensively as a key to the Cavalier victory.

'26 INF Caleb Tiede (Mt. Hood CC Commit)
The senior has provided some quality depth in the lineup this spring, building off of a strong showcase look this winter in which he showcased low 90's exit velocities and throws up to 85 MPH across the dirt. The lean, medium-framed athlete worked a flatter bat path through the zone. Tiede delivered a big 2 RBI single in what was a huge 5th inning for Clackamas, hitting a ball hard on the ground and finding a hole. The Mt. Hood commit reached via a walk earlier in the game as well, getting on base as he has for much of the spring to this point.
'26 OF CJ Limbo (Uncommitted)
In a game where the offenses were quiet early, Limbo delivered the clutch hit with runners on to break the game open in the middle innings. The senior features a handsier stroke with a tight turn through the zone, turning to keep an inside pitch fair down the left field line to drive in two. Limbo added another RBI later in the contest, finishing 1-2 with a walk and 3 RBI overall.

'27 RHP Harrison Buckingham (Oregon State Commit)
The top-ranked arm in Oregon's junior class had some mixed results on Tuesday, but still flashed the high-end potential that has become familiar over multiple showcase looks. The 6'1 arm moves with fluidity and polish on the mound, working his fastball at 86-89 MPH in this look. Buckingham features two potential plus higher spin breaking balls, the CB at 74-75 MPH and SL at 77-78 MPH. The junior struck out 5 over 4.2 innings of work. Buckingham will continue to be leaned upon heavily as one of the more talented arms in the state this season.

'27 OF/RHP Kellen Bowman (Portland Commit)
A highly skilled two-way player and D-1 commit, Bowman picked up a hard-hit single late in the game as his highlight in this one. The smooth lefty starts in a slightly open setup with a bend in his knees, working with minimal wasted movement and a heavier barrel carried through the zone. The frame carries athleticism and strength, fitting well in a corner OF role and on the mound. Another key piece moving forward for the Saxons.
'27 OF Ben Greer (Uncommitted)
Greer is seeing a larger role in the lineup in his junior spring, and looks the part of a potential impact player. A physical righthander, Greer carries some bat speed with a bend in levers at contact, creating some natural loft at impact with strong wrists. Greer came through with a 2 RBI single late in Tuesday's game, finishing 1-4 overall. The uncommitted prospect also manned CF defensively, and will be an intriguing follow as the spring progresses.

'26 C Teagan Scott (Oregon State Commit)
One of the top-ranked seniors in the state, Scott has had plenty of pro scout's eyes on him in his final high school season as an MLB Draft hopeful this summer. The defensive prowess continued to stand out on Tuesday, with maturity and skill controlling his arms and multiple standout throws. The bat was held quiet in this one, but the senior is hitting .444 with 3 HR and 10 RBI in the early spring. Must-follow in the class.
