Game Recaps
Western Branch 16, Halifax County 0
It was an offensive explosion in the first inning for Western Branch. They put up nine runs in the first inning and that set the tone from there. Markel Smith, Ryan Waddell, and Carter Walter all had multi-hit days to lead the offense for the Bruins. Ian Taylor and Ryan Waddell threw a combined one hit shutout to shut down the Comets lineup.
John Battle 3, St. Alban's 0
It was a pitching duel early in the game that led to four scoreless innings from both teams. It wasn't until the fifth and sixth innings, when a few runs were put on the board from Casey Rector and Caden Sturgill of John Battle. Sturgill also contributed to six shutout innings on the mound for the Trojans. Those contributions would go on to be enough for John Battle to get the win.
St. Anne's Belfield 16, John Battle 4
It was a back-and-forth affair to open up the game for both teams until the Saints put up crooked numbers in consecutive innings to break things open. Oscar Hickey had a phenomenal game, leading off the game with a home run as well as picking up another later in the game. Jack Fisher and Brooks Fox joined Hickey in the home run club in this game. Casey Rector was the offensive standout for John Battle, but that wasn't enough to defeat the Saints.
Miller School 9, Gainesville 0
It was the Kason Wagner show in this one as he put on a performance for the ages. He threw a complete game no-hitter, picking up sixteen strikeouts, leading the way to the win. To go with the outstanding pitching performance, the offense put on a show as well. Mandela Browman, Noah Gray, Conner Lockhart, and Gabe Proctor all had multi-hit games to contribute to the win.
St. Anne's Belfield 8, Great Bridge 4
The Saints were able to put some runs on the board early, and they didn't look back. Waylon Ammons, Oscar Hickey, and Ryan Steeper had a home run each in this to help lead the offense. Steeper also threw a complete game, keeping the Wildcat offense at bay. Trey Burton and Brandon Han had multi-hit days for Great Bridge. Cole Cinnamond came in for relief and struck out six in two innings.
Atlee 7, Miller School 2
The Raiders came ready to play and got on the board early and put up a crooked number. Barrett Bucholz and Jayden Dillane had multi-hit days and led the offense. Chase Blumberg and Evan Salapka had strong outings on the mound to slow down the Maverick offense.
