CHSAA Power 25 Update: Week 2
March 17, 2026
Colorado Power 25
The Prep Baseball Colorado staff is looking forward to diligently scouting players and teams throughout this spring, and will continue to work hard to bring the state top notch coverage on the baseball diamond. Colorado is flourishing with high-end baseball talent at the moment and is starting to gather more and more national recognition as well. We hope to continue all momentum in the state while making an impact on the players and teams within.
Throughout the 2026 season, our staff will be publishing scout notes/video, and additional in-season content along the way, like Power 25 updates, Player of the Week awards, 'Daily Roundups', and weekly top performers included inside Diamond Notes.

TOP 25 (WEEK 2):
FEATURED PROGRAMS:
ARVADA WEST: The Wildcats surge to No. 1 in the CHSAA Power 25 after dominant run-rule wins over top-five opponents Cherry Creek and Grandview to open the season. Cooper Vais and Brayden Reiner were outstanding in their first starts, combining for eight innings, nine strikeouts, and just two earned runs. Offensively, A-West has been explosive, plating 25 runs (12+ in each game), collecting six extra-base hits, and featuring six hitters currently batting .400 or better through their two games. The Wildcats carry a perfect record into the Boras Classic this week, where they’ll face a strong slate of national competition.
PUEBLO COUNTY: The Hornets are once again making noise out of Pueblo and look poised to be a serious 4A threat. This coaching staff consistently puts together competitive clubs, and Pueblo County is off to a 5-0 start with wins over Pueblo West, Skyline, Greeley West, Mead, and Fountain-Fort Carson. They’ve scored 10+ runs in all but one game this spring, with J. Hernandez, N. Hernandez, and Maes each hitting .500 or better to open the year. A deep group of arms is already contributing on the mound, a promising sign for their longevity, and the Hornets will be tested again soon with matchups against ranked opponents in Palisade, Canon City, and Falcon.
BROOMFIELD: The Eagles are a program that never seems to stay down for long, and this year’s group has the ingredients for another deep 5A run. Broomfield opened the season with an impressive 5-3 win over a strong Mullen squad and now heads out of state for spring break matchups that should further test and shape this roster. A wave of highly regarded talent is on the verge of breaking out in 2026, and the emerging arm depth could turn plenty of heads as new names step into bigger roles. While the schedule is lighter than in years past, it may ultimately work in Broomfield’s favor, allowing the Eagles time to solidify roles and build momentum as the season progresses.
RALSTON VALLEY: The Mustangs boast an impressive roster loaded with upperclassmen poised for big seasons in 2026, and they’ve already shown early promise with a 2-0 start, taking down Castle View 8-3 and George Washington 12-2. Ralston Valley features a well-balanced club with impact arms on the mound and a deep, dangerous lineup filled with emerging bats, all playing in a hitter-friendly home park. Coach Madden has a wealth of pitching options at his disposal, giving opponents a variety of tough, often unique looks. If this group continues to develop, don’t be surprised to see Ralston Valley steadily climb the rankings throughout the season.
