2026 Shipyard/Prep Baseball Showdown: Scout Blog Part 1

Now in its eighth  consecutive year, the Shipyard/Prep Baseball Showdown high school preseason tournament returns bigger and better than ever. This year's event showcases a highly talented field, featuring 12 of the top teams from across South Carolina.

The tournament will take place from Friday, February 27th, through Monday, March 2nd, at the pristine Shipyard Park. This premier waterfront venue provides a truly unique experience, offering unparalleled views and unforgettable moments for both players and spectators.

SHIPYARD PREP BASEBALL SHOWDOWN

Bryce Meil, 2026, RHP, Catawba Ridge

Wofford commit. Big and strong frame at 6-3 220lb. FB sat 86-89 with strong ASR and life in zone. SL this look was 74-76, at its best will dive out of zone to RHH. Can manipulate shape on breaking pitches. Calm, mature demeanor on mound. 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K on 63 pitches.

Jack Provenzano, 2028, OF, Catawba Ridge

Wiry athlete at 5-11 155lbs. Good hand speed in the zone and shows ability to line the ball to all fields. Power developing as he continues to add on, intriguing skill set. One to keep an eye on as he ages.
