#2 Battlefield @ Riverside *Scrimmage*

The Class 6 favorites met a Class 5 powerhouse in a scrimmage that turned into a massive slugfest. For Riverside, senior Charlie DePippo and juniors Graydon Munsey and Brayden Dowdall all homered on a day when the ball was jumping out of the park.

#12 Highland School 6, Gonzaga College 3

The Hawks jumped out to an early lead after a four run top of the first. That inning was highlighted by a two run missile off the bat of '26 Jake Gunning (William & Mary). After going down 5-0 in the top of the third, Gonzaga answered with three runs in the bottom half. That inning was highlighted by a '26 Dylan Waits (Washington & Lee) double, and a pair of singles from '26 Alex De La Cruz and '28 Jackson Schmidt. After the Eagles' big inning, '28 Ryan Gaines entered and stymied any hopes of a Gonzaga comeback. Gaines was the highlight of the night, throwing four scoreless, did not give up a hit, and struck out seven. '27 Kaden Zimorowicz (JMU), '28 Wright Broadhead, and '27 Quinn Peck all had multi-hit nights for #12 Highland, with Peck driving in four of Highland's six runs. The Hawks move to 2-0 on the season.

#24 St. Alban's Bulldogs 7, St. John's College 7

St. Albans took on the perennial powerhouse St. John's in an early season matchup. It was a pitching dual for the majority of the game from St. John's '26 Jack Jenkins (Catholic) and St. Alban's '28 Jack Guerin. Jenkins struckout six in five innings of work. Guerin struckout five in four innings. '26 Caleb Kim (John Hopkins) and '27 John Melrose had some clutch hits late for St. Albans. '27 Jake Arminger, '27 Jackson Bringger, and '28 Matthew Ruddy contributed to the St. John's offense with some run production for the Cadets. The late comebacks from both teams ended with a 7-7 tie in this early season dual.
