2026 Power 25 Countdown: No. 10 Lipscomb Academy Mustangs

The Lipscomb Academy baseball program finished the 2025 season going 28-9-1 and winning the State Championship. Coming into the spring, the Mustangs have to replace most of their lineup and rotation after graduating a talented senior class, but they’re still a team loaded with talent. 

One of the big returners for Lipscomb Academy is 2026 Vol commit MIF Jack Dugan who finished last spring hitting .417 and 14 HRs. Jack is a left-handed hitter with prototypical size standing 6’2 190 lbs and has a rare mix of power and speed. At the plate, Jack hits balls well into the 100 MPH exit velocities while also running a 6.62 60 time and comes into the spring as one of the most feared hitters in the state. 2026 1B Nash Stark is one of the best power hitters still uncommitted and finished last spring strong hitting .382 and 11 HRs. Nash has a rare frame standing at 6’6 240 lbs and profiles as a legit power hitter at the next level. 2026 Vol commit MIF Colt Springall is another big returner that will hit at the top of the lineup and be a tone setter for the Mustangs. Colt is a Super 60 alum and left-handed hitter who is just now scratching the surface on what he can do. 2026 C Harris Fisher will be thrust into a much bigger role as a middle of the order hitter for the Mustangs and their every day catcher. Harris has good size for a catcher standing at 6’2 200 lbs and has an interesting power skill set that should show up big in the spring. 

The Mustangs also have one of the best 2028 classes in the state that will be counted on to replace the big senior class that just graduated after winning a state championship. 2028 UTIL/RHP Drew Wagner will be plugged into the top of the lineup and has the versatility to play in the outfield or a corner infield position. Drew has a big frame standing at 6’3 195 lbs and looks to turn into a big power hitter with impressive twitch at the plate while also running a 6.79 60. 2028 INF Ryan Duty is a Junior Future Game alum and is another guy with a rare mix of power and speed with 100 MPH exit velocity and 6.9 speed. Ryan will look to lock down the third base position and hit in the middle of the order. 2028 UTIL/RHP Reid Bostic is a Junior Future Game alum and will look to be an important arm for the Mustangs with a fastball sitting in the mid-80s that comes from a tough slot. Reid will also be an important bat in the lineup that has a knack for finding a barrel. 2028 C/RHP Brody Hillard is a Junior Future Game alum and is coming off an injury that will keep him out for a lot of the season. Brody was an amazing addition for the Mustangs in his freshman season where he had a .446 OBP and pitched the state championship game. Brody has the definition of a gamer who can do anything on the field. With this gritty attitude, Brody has a chance to stick as a catcher long term with good size and a strong arm with pop times in the 1.9-2.0 range.

2028 RHP AJ Dungan is coming off an injury in 2025 but will look to bounce back this spring as one of the top pitchers for the Mustangs. Standing at 6’4, AJ has long limbs and comes at hitters from a lower arm slot that creates deception and a nasty slider. Before his injury, AJ had already reached 90 MPH and has the ceiling to become one of the best 2028 pitchers in the country. 

Lipscomb Academy might take a while to gel with a lot of new faces but the pieces are there to not only get back to Murfreesboro but to repeat.
