The 2026 high school baseball season is underway and, as usual, excitement is present throughout Minnesota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across the North Star State.

Each week we will be releasing our Power Rankings, Scout Blog, Diamond Notes, and Player of The Week, covering all the bases. Today, we look at the scores from our teams in our Power Rankings.

NOTES

+ No. 1 Cretin-Derham Hall took its first loss of the season, falling 5-3 to No. 5 Mounds View. The Raiders had some production in the order as Mason Lewandoski (2029, IF, Uncommitted) went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Isaac Feller (2027, OF, Uncommitted) added a triple, finishing 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Out of the bullpen, Griffin Peterson (2027) kept them within reach, working 3.2 innings and allowing one run on one hit while striking out five.

+ Mounds View backed up its move into the No. 5 spot with a statement win. Andrew Gette (2026, RHP, Miami) was sharp again in his second outing, holding Cretin-Derham Hall to two runs on two hits while striking out nine. Jack Tretter (2026, 1B, St. Mary's) delivered the big swing with a two-run home run in the third, and Liam Berlien added a 2-for-3 day with two RBI and two runs scored.

+ No. 3 Farmington continues to separate itself. The Tigers knocked off Eastview 7-0 and have now outscored opponents 34-2 through four games. Grady Renwick (2026, 1B, Southwest Minnesota State) led the offense with a double and a home run. Benjamin Fenske (2027, OF, UW-LaCrosse) went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Ty Beck (2027, OF, Uncommitted) left the yard for his first home run of the season. On the mound, Brodie Gibart (2026, LHP, Augustana) followed up his no-hitter with another strong outing, going five innings while allowing two hits, no walks, and striking out eight.

+ No. 6 Edina handled Bloomington Jefferson 8-0 behind a breakout performance from Bode McConnell (2027, SS, Uncommitted). He went 3-for-4 with a double and put the game away with a grand slam in the sixth.
