Prep Baseball Tennessee Staff

The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2026 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 5

+ Ben Dockery (UTL, Maryville HS) delivered a dominant two-way week, hitting .636 with extra-base impact (2 2B, 4 3B, 1 HR, 11 RBI) while also earning a win on the mound with six shutout innings and eight strikeouts.

+ Jake Clanton (UTL, Lake County HS) was perfect at the plate, hitting 1.000 on the week with a 1.000 OBP, scoring eight runs and drawing seven walks.

+ Logan Mays (RHP, Lawrence County HS) was electric on the mound, striking out 10 over five innings while allowing just one hit across two appearances.

+ Jack Emerson (UTL, Lawrence County HS) hit .438 with a 1.276 OPS, adding a home run, five RBIs, and five stolen bases in a strong all-around week.

+ Andrew Bivens (RHP, Knoxville Central HS) threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out six.

+ Tommy Baker (UTL, South Gibson HS) had an explosive week, hitting .714 with a 2.086 OPS, two home runs, 10 RBIs, and 10 runs scored while also earning a win on the mound.

+ Aaron Hise (UTL, Boyd-Buchanan HS) stayed hot, hitting .476 with four home runs and 13 RBIs, showcasing major power production.

+ Cam Payne (UTL, White House Heritage HS) went 5-for-6 with extra-base impact and drove in seven runs, scoring five times.

+ Carter Winders (UTL, Crockett County HS) dominated as a two-way player, hitting .722 with a 2.151 OPS while also earning a win with seven innings and nine strikeouts on the mound.

+ Jackson Livesay (UTL, Providence Christian Academy) hit .500 with a 1.292 OPS and added value on the mound with 2.1 no-hit innings and three strikeouts.

+ Josiah Allen (RHP, Providence Christian Academy) picked up a win on the mound, striking out seven in a strong outing.

+ Caleb Gilbert (RHP, Nolensville HS) tossed a complete-game no-hitter with 10 strikeouts, dominating Franklin.

+ Kael Barney (OF, Nolensville HS) went 5-for-10 with two doubles, two home runs, and six RBIs, adding three stolen bases in a strong offensive showing.

+ Colby Comparato (UTL, Halls HS) had a massive week, hitting .750 with three home runs, multiple extra-base hits, and 10 RBIs.

+ Fisher Green (RHP, Halls HS) threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, showcasing dominant stuff on the mound.

+ Easton Sullivan (2026 P/C, Greenfield HS) starred as a two-way force, striking out 12 in a win on the mound while also going 9-for-12 with multiple extra-base hits at the plate.

+ Caden Sparkman (2026 1B, Greenfield HS) contributed offensively, going 5-for-10 with three doubles and five RBIs while consistently getting on base.

+ Crew Chance (2028 C/OF, CPA) went 7-for-15 with two home runs and eight RBIs, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle.

+ Bo Holloway (2026 LHP, CPA) dominated on the mound, throwing six scoreless innings with 12 strikeouts and just one hit allowed.

+ Keaton Anderson (2026 OF, Clarksville HS) hit .667 with a 1.484 OPS, collecting 10 hits, scoring nine runs, and swiping nine bases.

+ Lane Ayars (2029 P/OF, Wilson Central HS) impressed as a two-way standout, throwing a complete-game no-hitter with 13 strikeouts while also contributing multiple extra-base hits at the plate.

+ Lane Brown (2026 LHP/OF, Dickson County HS) had a huge two-way week, hitting .652 with multiple extra-base hits while also striking out 10 over seven scoreless innings.

+ Christian Mitchell (2026 CF, Lausanne HS) hit .625 with a .700 OBP, adding extra-base hits and driving in four runs.

+ Jacob Greene (2026 1B/DH, Sevier County HS) hit .500 with power, including two home runs and a 1.683 OPS over four games.

+ James Hooker (2027 C/3B/RHP, Sevier County HS) showcased big power, hitting four home runs over five games while posting a strong overall offensive line.

+ Tay’veonn Bonds (2026, Red Bank HS) 7.0 innings complete game giving up 3 hits with 1 run against him with 7 K’s over Hixson HS. Finished with  59 strikes on 96 pitches.
