The Prep Baseball California High School Hitter of the Week highlights the best individual offensive performance for a California high school player from the previous week.  Each week, high school coaches are emailed and asked to send in their nominees for Pitcher and Player of the Week.  If you wish to nominate someone for Player or Pitcher of the Week, please be sure to fill out this form before noon on Mondays. 

While there can only be one pitcher and player of the week, our Diamond Notes, which are released every Wednesday, are intended to shine a spotlight on other noteworthy performances from the previous week.

WEEK 7 HITTER OF THE WEEK

2027 INF Parker Leoff, Huntington Beach - UCLA Commit

Making his return after the transfer sit-out period, Leoff showed no signs of rust, turning in a big week at the plate while helping Huntington Beach to a 3-0 stretch. The run pushed the Oilers to 11-2-1 overall and has them currently ranked No. 5 in the California Power 25 and No. 20 nationally.

In a three-game set against Sunset League opponent Corona del Mar last week, Leoff was on fire at the plate, leading the Oilers to a sweep while keeping their perfect league record intact at 9-0. He finished the series 6-for-10 with three doubles, three RBIs, and eight runs scored, posting a .663 OBP and 1.592 OPS.

The junior UCLA commit was a major standout at the 2025 Future Games last summer and is now off to a strong start in his 2026 season. His presence has added even more depth to an already dangerous Huntington Beach lineup.
