No. 18 Lemont vs. Lyons Township
By: Drew Locascio
Illinois/Wisconsin Scouting Supervisor
Nathan Zdenovec, LHP, Lemont, 2028
6-foot-2, 160-pound, athletically-built, left-handed pitcher. Got the start on the mound and turned in an impressive overall performance. Took a tough loss after carrying a no-hitter into the top of the seventh inning. Attacked with a true three-pitch mix. Clean, athletic, repeatable delivery; simple with minimal wasted movement and works on-line. Short, clean arm action, high ¾ slot. Fastball plays mostly straight, in and around the zone, touched 85 mph early and sat mostly 82-83 throughout. Went to a curveball with sharp, hard-biting action as his go-to secondary offering; 72-75 mph with 2200+ rpm. Has a chance to be a plus offering down the road, especially as his feel for it continues to improve. Flashed a straight changeup at 80-81 mph 1600 rpm. Athletic left-handed pitcher with a high-ceiling and his best days yet to come. Final line: 6.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 6 K
