Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 3

Each week during the high school season, we will recognize the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for standout performances across the state. Throughout the season, numerous athletes continue to post impressive numbers both at the plate and on the mound. Based on nominations submitted by high school coaches statewide, one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week will be selected. A special thank you to Mizuno for sponsoring these awards throughout the season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 3 of the 2026 spring season.

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Drew Hostetler OF / RHP / Siegel, TN / 2026

Drew Hostetler (Siegel) turned in a massive all-around performance, hitting an incredible .722 (13-for-18) with a 1.333 slugging percentage. The dynamic playmaker tallied five RBIs, 10 runs scored, and four stolen bases, while piling up extra-base hits with two doubles, three triples, and a home run, highlighted by hitting for the cycle on March 19. He also made an impact on the mound, tossing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts to earn a save, capping off a dominant week on both sides of the ball.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Canon Day 3B / RHP / Houston, TN / 2028

RHP Canon Day (Houston) delivered a dominant outing on the mound, tossing six strong innings while allowing just one hit and one earned run. The right-hander was in complete control throughout, racking up 13 strikeouts and overwhelming hitters with his ability to miss bats and command the zone.
