National Classic Tournament

Les Lukach, State Scouting Director

2026 RHP Graham Schlicht, De La Salle - Stanford signee

In a word, he was dominant in this outing in front of 20+ MLB Scouts and crosscheckers. Schlicht went six innings of four hit ball with two walks and eight strikeouts. His fastball lived 90-92 mph and he ramped it up twice to 94 mph, both in strikeout situations. He has two breaking balls, one a more traditional curveball at 78-79 mph that flashes an 11-5 shape, and one more of a slider that is more sweepy at 80-83 mph. Both were unhittable and collected 17 whiffs combined. His changeup at 83-84 mph showed above average at times, but still could use some refinement. As mentioned, it was a dominant performance for Schlicht. He did not give up back-to-back hits and he didn’t allow more than one hit in any inning. The only time he was in any sort of trouble was when he allowed a hit then hit a batter and an error occurred behind him to load the bases. It was then that he reared back for 94 mph on the fastball on back-to-back strikes. It’s going to take a lot to lure Schlicht away from Stanford, but for the dozen or so scouts I spoke with after, they all feel that he is amongst the top 3-4 best arms in California.
