National Player of the Week: 3/23 to 3/29

By Andy Sroka
National Managing Editor, Scouting

Today, we’re announcing our fifth National Player of the Week of the 2026 campaign, as the spring season is fully in swing.

The following players were submitted by their coaches to our state directors and they went on to earn the Player or Pitcher of the Week award in those states. From there, we sifted through the country’s POTWs and selected the top performer among them, singling them out as the sole National Player of the Week. If you’re a coach interested in submitting a nomination this season but have not yet received that form so far this spring, visit our staff directory to find the contact information for the state director overseeing your state’s season coverage.

Our staff took player stat lines from the week of March 23 to 29 into account when determining these awards.

🏆 NATIONAL POTW

Michael Teasley RHP / 3B / Oak Ridge, TN / 2026

“The former Prep Baseball Future Gamer and Tennessee recruit delivered on both sides of the ball this past week. On the mound against 7A Fairhope (AL), Teasley was electric, tossing a no-hitter on just 76 pitches while racking up 14 strikeouts. He carried that same momentum to the plate, hitting .667 with 14 hits, including four doubles, and driving in 10 runs. A complete performance that showcased his ability to impact the game at a high level on both sides.”

– Hunter Martin, Tennessee Scouting Director

(3/18/26)

Alabama

+ Will Adams, OF/LHP (Hoover HS, 2026) | LSU:
“The LSU recruit had a huge week at the plate, going 8-for-12 (.706) with four home runs, two doubles, and 14 RBIs over five games. He consistently impacted the middle of the order, showing advanced barrel control and the ability to drive the baseball with authority. The power production stood out, as he proved to be a difference-maker in multiple games throughout the week.”

David Sharp, Deep South Supervisor

(3/5/26)

Arkansas

+ Jax Trofholz, 3B (Bentonville HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Across a three-game span over spring break, Trofholz collected six hits at the plate including four home runs, three of which came in the same game. To go along with this, Trofholz picked up a double and helped propel his team to a 3-0 weekend. This top uncommitted player in the state comes with a solid frame at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, and showcases a powerful uphill swing. Look for him to continue to have success throughout the rest of the spring season.”

Mikel Howell, Arkansas Asst. Director

(3/31/26)

California

+ Gary Morse, RHP (Orange Lutheran HS, 2026) | Tennessee:
“Morse threw for OLu in its opening game victory at the NHSI event, and he went the distance for a shutout win against Regis Jesuit (CO). Even more impressive was the 16 strikeouts he posted against a high-level high school lineup while allowing just two hits and three walks on the day.”

(3/4/26)

+ Jake Kim, 1B (Harvard-Westlake HS, 2027) | UCLA:
“With Harvard-Westlake traveling to the NHSI event, Kim spent the week facing top-level arms and obliterated the competition. In his 15 trips to the plate while out in Cary, N.C., Kim reached base 10 times, going an impressive 6-for-11 with four walks. But, when you consider five of his six hits went for extra bases (two home runs and three doubles) with nine RBIs, it's an eye-opening week for the talented left-handed hitter.”

Steven Hardesty, California Asst. Director

(1/19/26)

Colorado

+ Karter Robertson, SS/RHP (Vista Peak HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:
“The sophomore turned in a perfect week at the plate, going 7-for-7, highlighted by a three-homer game. He also tallied three hits against the state’s No. 2-ranked program and one of Colorado’s top arms at Arvada West. Robertson finished with five extra-base hits on the week and added a couple of stolen bases, and drove in seven runs overall. With a highly projectable frame, Robertson is already hitting .486 with five homers across 38 plate appearances this spring at the 5A level, and he is certainly one to watch closely as the season unfolds.”

Caleb Dameron, Colorado Asst. Director

Florida

+ Julio A. Gonzalez, SS (Miami Sunset HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Gonzalez put together a monster week at the plate, securing the state's Hitter of the Week honors. The '27 shortstop was the ultimate run-producing machine for the Knights. Gonzalez was an incredibly tough out all week long, putting together a blazing 6-for-10 stretch at the plate while scoring six runs himself. Every time he made contact, he did massive damage, tallying 10 RBIs across the week too. Five of his six hits went for extra bases, as he laced two doubles and launched an incredible three home runs.”

+ Victor Escobar, RHP (Belen Jesuit HS, 2026) | Embry-Riddle:
“Embry-Riddle recruit, Victor Escobar, was perfection on the mound this week, easily earning Florida's Pitcher of the Week honors with a flawless performance. Escobar took the hill and retired every single batter he faced, tossing five perfect innings without allowing a single baserunner. He was untouchable from the first pitch, surrendering zero hits and issuing zero walks to keep the scoreboard completely clean with zero runs allowed and six Ks.”

Rocco Iervasi, Florida Director of Operations

Georgia

+ Niles Redrick, SS (Landmark Christian HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Landmark Christian senior Niles Redrick paced his team's offense by going 7-for-11 over three games, including a special performance on March 23 against Whitefield Academy. In that ballgame, Redrick went 5-for-5 with four home runs, and six of his eight RBIs on the week came in that one contest. He slugged his fifth homer later in the week, finishing with six extra-base hits total.”

Hudson Graham, Georgia State Director

(3/12/26)

Illinois

+ Jacsen Tucker, SS (Oswego East HS, 2027) | Oklahoma State:
“Tucker, a former Future Games standout, set his school's career home run record this past week after he finished 7-for-15 with three home runs, a double, nine RBIs, seven runs scored, a walk and four stolen bases. The statline, paired with the storyline of setting his school's record, was deserving of POTW honors in our staff's eyes.”

(3/24/26)

+ Simon Rose, RHP (Highland Park HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Rose is a talented two-way prospect within our state, but it was his dominance on the mound this past week that caught our eye. The right-hander fired 6.1 shutout innings with just three hits allowed, striking out 15 against just one walk. He also led off the same game with an immaculate inning.”

Peter Hamot, Illinois & Wisconsin Asst. Scouting Director

(7/11/25)

Kansas

+ Connor McCool, INF/RHP (Shawnee Mission South HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“The Future Games alum is off to a scorching start to his junior campaign, leading the No. 5 Raiders to a perfect 3-0 opening week, highlighted by a statement win over then-No. 11 Spring Hill. One of the state's top uncommitted prospects, McCool was a force on both sides of the ball, hitting a blistering .800 (8-for-10) with three doubles, a triple, a home run, and five RBIs while adding six runs scored and two stolen bases. On the mound, he slammed the door against Brandon Valley (SD), earning a two-inning save while striking out six and surrendering just a single hit.”

Eliott Wilk, Central Region Ops. Director

(3/27/26)

Louisiana

+ Bradyn Cupit, LHP (West Monrie HS, 2026) | LSU:
“Cupit has been one of the state’s premier arms since the moment he stepped on campus at West Monroe, and the LSU recruit is putting the finishing touches on a dominant senior campaign.

Last Thursday in a district showdown against Pineville, the veteran southpaw was simply overpowering, spinning a complete game no-hitter with just three walks and 12 strikeouts on 87 pitches (64 percent strikes).

With that performance, Cupit surpassed the 300-strikeout mark for his career, now sitting at 301 punchouts for the Rebels. On the season, he owns a 6-1 record with a sparkling 1.01 ERA and 70 strikeouts across 41 innings pitched, continuing to cement his status as one of Louisiana’s elite arms.”

Alex Armand, Louisiana Scouting Director

(2/12/26)

Maryland

+ Arian Vargas, RHP (Archbishop Spalding HS, 2026) | Alabama:
“Vargas stands atop all Maryland performances from this past week with a great week at both the plate and on the mound. The Alabama commit, and 2024 Future Games alum, pitched a perfect game on last Monday afternoon in the first game of Archbishop Spalding's series against McDonogh School, racking up 12 strikeouts without surrendering either a hit or a walk. On the season, Vargas has logged 15.1 innings and he has yet to allow a hit.”

Jamie Naill, Maryland Scouting Director

(3/6/26)

Mississippi

+ Nelson Barthel, C/OF (Northwest Rankin HS, 2026) | Jones JC:
“Barthel had a massive week at the plate, going 9-for-14 (.643) with three home runs, including a grand slam, along with a double, seven RBIs, and six runs scored. His ability to drive the baseball with authority stood out all week. The Future Games alum and Jones College recruit continues to help lead the charge for Northwest Rankin this spring.”

(2/9/26)

+ Jon Grey Morrisson, 3B/RHP (West Union HS, 2026) | Itawamba JC:
“The former Prep Baseball Future Gamer and Itawamba recruit was dominant on both sides, throwing a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts while allowing just three hits, while hitting 5-for-11 with a double, triple, grand slam, and seven RBIs on the week from the plate.”

Matt Miller, Mississippi State Director

Nebraska

+ Cade Anderson, 3B/RHP (Lincoln East HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:
“Through the first seven games of the season, Anderson – the top-ranked sophomore in the state – is 11-for-20 with seven extra-base hits (3 HR) and he's driven in 14 runs with seven runs scored. He's been a force inside the lineup of the No. 2-ranked team in Nebraska.”

(3/9/26)

+ Linkin Dush, LHP (Lincoln Southwest HS, 2026) | North Dakota State:
“In two appearances against teams ranked inside the state's top-10, Dush racked up 22 Ks in 10 innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits and three walks.”

Pascal Paul, Nebraska Scouting Director

(3/29/26)

Nevada

+ Giovanni Guariglia Jr., RHP/INF (Silverado HS, 2026) | TCU:
“Silverado senior Giovanni Guariglia was an offensive juggernaut this past week, serving as a primary catalyst in the Skyhawks' current winning streak. Guariglia’s week was highlighted by a 4-RBI performance against Coronado. Throughout the week he kept finding the gaps, recording six extra-base hits, including home runs against Coronado (twice), PAC and Spring Valley, while driving in a total of eight runs.

Guariglia’s season totals reflect a player who has found his rhythm at the right time. He has now amassed 24 RBIs on the season, leading the team in that category. His power numbers are equally impressive, totaling 10 home runs and five doubles, contributing to a massive slugging percentage. Perhaps most impressive this week was his discipline; while his power is his calling card, he reached base at a high clip over his last few games, proving to be a versatile threat that opposing pitchers simply couldn't solve.”

+ Liam Radke, RHP (Faith Lutheran HS, 2027) | TCU:
“Faith Lutheran’s Liam Radke made his mark on March 23, tossing a seven-inning no-hitter to lead the Crusaders to a 6-0 victory over Durango. Radke was in a league of his own, tossing the no-hitter while racking up a season-high 12 strikeouts. Radke needed just 91 pitches (60 strikes) to complete the gem, maintaining his velocity and command from the first pitch to the final out.

Since the season opener, Radke has been nearly untouchable this spring, posting four consecutive scoreless appearances against high-level programs like Green Valley and Crimson Cliffs. His ability to miss bats has reached elite status, and he has now recorded double-digit strikeouts in back-to-back starts, bringing his season total to 47 punch-outs. With an opponent batting average that has plummeted to .121, Radke has firmly established himself as one of the most dominant arms in Nevada's Class 5A.”

Brett Harrison, Mountain West Supervisor

(7/23/25)

North Carolina

+ Chase Smith, 1B (East Forsyth HS, 2026) | Caldwell JC:
“Chase recently committed to Caldwell JC and celebrated this past week by going 7-for-9, helping East Forsyth to a 3-1 week overall. The week included three home runs, a double, eight RBIs, and six runs scored, and he reached via the walk three more times.”

+ Jess Bowling, RHP (South Brunswick HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Bowling fired a six-inning no-hitter with 13 punch-outs and three walks for South Brunswick. Bowling faced 21 hitters, throwing 83 pitches (67 percent strikes) in a win that helped his team go 3-0 on the week.”

Brandon Hall, Mid-Atlantic Scouting Director

(7/2/25)

Oklahoma

+ Dagan Grizzle, RHP/1B (Sallisaw HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“On the week, Grizzle was a difference-maker on both sides of the ball as Sallisaw stayed hot, moving to 14-0 on the year, and 6-0 on the week. Working out of the middle of the lineup, he was 13-for-24 with three homers, and he added two doubles which helped him collect 15 RBIs. On the mound, the right-hander continued his torrid 2026 campaign that has seen him throw multiple perfect games. This week, the towering 6-foot-4 junior fired five innings and allowed just one hit, no runs, and he K'd 11 batters. The all-around performance from Grizzle puts him over the top with his ability to impact games in a variety of ways.”

Bret Schwartz, Oklahoma Scouting Director

(5/18/25)

Oregon

+ Cade Pettersen, LHP (North Medford HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“The North Medford junior was exceptional on the mound last week, spinning six-inning shutout in his start to win the state's Pitcher of the Week award. The lefty struck out eight batters, allowing just three hits and four walks overall. Pettersen was impressive at a showcase last winter and looks to have added some strength in his latest in-game look.”

+ Dylan Brenton, C (Tualatin HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“The physical right-handed hitter had a great offensive week to earn the state's Hitter of the Week award in week two of Oregon high school action. Brenton went 7-for-8, doubling twice and walking four times. The junior also added four runs and eight RBIs as a part of his massive offensive performance. Brenton's hot start to the spring builds off of a strong look at this winter's Preseason All-State.”

Dylan Grenz, Pacific Northwest Asst. Scouting Director

(3/19/26)

South Carolina

+ Dalton Corley, RHP (River Bluff HS, 2026) | Florence-Darlington Tech JC:
“Corley dominated from the bump this past week for River Bluff, tossing seven shutout innings allowing just two hits while punching out 17 batters. The senior is committed to Flo-Dar Tech JC and is having a strong spring.”

+ Charlie Scott, OF (AC Flora HS, 2026) | The Citadel:
“Scott, a senior and Citadel recruit, impressed for AC Flora last week, hitting .447 while slugging four homers that helped him drive in 12 RBIs, and he added four stolen bases on top of it.”

Sammy Esposito, South Carolina Scouting Director

(3/6/26)

Tennessee

+ Colton Karkau, C/3B (Ravenwood HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“The uncommitted junior from Ravenwood turned in a dominant performance on the mound, tossing a no-hitter in a six-inning run-rule win over rival Brentwood. The right-hander was in complete control throughout, racking up 10 strikeouts while allowing just two walks, and filling up the zone with 53 of his 79 pitches going for strikes.”

Hunter Martin, Tennessee Scouting Director

(3/4/26)

Texas

+ Garrett Jordan, LHP (Forney HS, 2026) | Cisco JC:
“The Cisco commit Garrett Jordan earns Pitcher of the Week honors in Texas after a dominant five-inning no-hitter, striking out 11 while allowing just one free pass. Jordan controlled the game from the start, attacking the zone as he led the Jackrabbits to a 10-0 win. A commanding, efficient outing from the lefty.”

+ Chase Pearrow, SS (Waxahachie HS, 2026) | Navarro JC:
“The Navarro commit earns Player of the Week honors in the state after a huge showing at the plate, going 6-for-11 with three home runs, a double, and 10 RBIs. Pearrow’s power was on full display all week, consistently driving the baseball with authority. He capped it off by setting the school single-season home run record with his 11th of the year. A standout performance from one of the hottest bats in Texas.”

Ben Green, Texas State Director

(2/20/26)

Utah

+ Cooper Goff, OF (Mountain Ridge HS, 2027) | TCU:
“Cooper put on a clinical power display this week, serving as the engine for a Mountain Ridge offense that swept a high-stakes region series against Herriman. Goff was hard to keep in the yard, launching three home runs and driving in seven runs over the three-game stretch. His dominance was headlined by a monster performance in the series finale, where he blasted two home runs and accounted for five RBIs to secure the sweep. Finishing the week with a .500 average and a staggering 1.945 OPS, Goff’s blend of elite power and high-level production continues to solidify his status as one of the most dangerous middle-of-the-order threats in the state. All in all, he went 5-for-10 with three homers, seven RBIs, and he scored six runs.”

+ Jonathon McGuire, RHP (Dixie HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“McGuire turned in a masterful performance on the mound this week, anchoring the Dixie Flyers in a gritty 2-1 victory over a strong Pleasant Grove team. The right-hander was absolutely dominant throughout his seven-inning complete game, surrendering just three hits while consistently working ahead in the count. McGuire racked up 10 strikeouts, effectively silencing a potent Vikings lineup and refusing to allow a single earned run. It was a true ace-type outing that showcased his poise and ability to thrive in high-leverage situations, providing the Flyers with the shutdown performance needed to secure a marquee win. Jonny remains uncommitted at the next level and is making a strong case for consideration as one of the top uncommitted arms remaining in the state's 2027 class.”

Taylor Berg, Utah Scouting Director

(3/7/26)

Virginia

+ Ryan Watson, 1B (Greenbrier Christian HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Watson was 5-for-11 on the week and hit three home runs in one game where our staff was in attendance. His three-homer game came against a Power 25 opponent, too. He also had six RBIs and three runs scored in the ballgame. Watson is a Future Games alum with legitimate raw power.”

Jason Burton, Virginia State Director

+ Oscar Hickey, OF (St. Anne’s-Belfield HS, 2026) | William & Mary:
“Hickey was 6-for-11 last week in three games, two of which came against Power 25 opponents. He hit three home runs in two games at the Prep Baseball Commonweath Classic, also adding a double, four RBIs, and three runs scored. As a result, Hickey was named the Commonwealth Classic MVP.”

Jason Burton, Virginia State Director

(3/28/26)

Washington

+ Jackson Dion, RHP (Emerald Ridge HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“The strong-framed righthander had it all working last week, throwing six shutout innings on the mound to win Washington's Pitcher of the Week award. Dion struck out 15 batters while allowing just three hits and two walks in his impressive performance. The Emerald Ridge arm has been an arrow-up prospect in recent months and is a must-follow uncommitted junior.”

+ Ben Byeman, 1B/OF (Eastlake HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:
“The Eastlake product and the No. 11-ranked player in Washington's '28 class was exceptional last week, going 10-for-14 overall. Byeman slugged two home runs, two triples and two doubles across three stellar games. He also added five runs, five RBIs and four walks. Byeman was fantastic at PNW Preseason All-State this winter and he swings one of the top left-handed bats in the state's sophomore class.”

(3/19/26)

Washington

+ Angelo White, OF (Seattle Prep HS, 2028) | Uncommitted:
“The sophomore outfielder had a big first week of game play, finishing 4-for-9 over three games. White slugged a home run and a triple, scoring four runs and driving five RBIs at the top of Seattle Prep's lineup. Angelo was last seen at West Coast Super Sophomore Games last fall, where he showed similar offensive skill, and will be a name to watch moving forward.”
