NOTABLE RECAPS FROM TUESDAY

GAME OF THE DAY

#8 Corner Canyon (3) vs. #1 Spanish Fork (5)

The Spanish Fork Dons pulled away in the late stages to secure a focused 5–3 victory over Corner Canyon, fueled by a standout performance from Nixon Warren and a timely power surge. Warren was an absolute nightmare for the Chargers' pitching staff, racking up three hits—including a go ahead RBI triple—while Matai Johnson provided the afternoon's biggest hit with a solo home run. While Kayden Lambson set a strong tone early with five strikeouts over 4 IP, the game truly shifted when Pratt Morley stepped onto the mound. Morley was clinical in relief, tossing three scoreless frames to earn the win and neutralize a Corner Canyon lineup that struggled to find a rhythm against him. The Chargers remained within striking distance for much of the game thanks to a steady start from Paulsen, but Spanish Fork’s ability to manufacture runs in high-pressure moments proved to be the difference-maker in this back-and-forth battle. Spanish moves to (11-0) to remain undefeated in their first week as the #1 team in the Utah state rankings.

Top Performers

#25 Wasatch (8) vs. #4 Pleasant Grove (3)

The Wasatch Wasps made a definitive statement on Tuesday, taking down the Pleasant Grove Vikings with a focused 8–3 victory. Max Livingston set the tone on the mound, navigating through six innings while surrendering only two earned runs to anchor the Wasps' defense. Offensively, Wasatch swarmed the Vikings early, led by Braxton Faller and Jack Salmon, who both turned in multi-hit performances and combined for three RBIs. Eddie Bluth was equally productive, reaching base three times and scoring twice to keep the carousel moving. Pleasant Grove found a jolt of power from Mason Henry, who launched a towering solo home run, and a steady two-hit day from Tobin Degelbeck, but the Vikings struggled to find their rhythm against Livingston and reliever Austin Brown. With Wasatch now holding a 1–0 lead, the series picks up again later today as Pleasant Grove looks to protect their home turf and force a deciding third game.

Top Performers

#19 Jordan (10) vs. Davis (11)

The Davis Darts emerged on top of a dizzying high-scoring shootout, edging past the Jordan Beetdiggers in an 11–10 thriller that kept the scoreboard operators working overtime. Davis relied on a significant display of home run power to fuel the victory, as Lincoln Green and Kysen Gellegos both left the yard, while Trigg Wimmer was clinical at the plate, racking up three hits—including a double—and three RBIs. Jordan matched the Darts' aggression with a relentless 14-hit barrage, led by a multi-hit performance from CJ Sumner, who drove in three runs, and Jayden Montoya, who collected two hits and scored twice. Despite the Beetdiggers’ persistent offensive pressure and a perfect day at the dish from Dallon Molder, Bo Egbert provided the necessary stability on the mound for the Darts, tossing three effective innings of relief to navigate through the late-game surge and secure the hard-fought home win.

Top Performers

#22 Herriman (3) vs. #10 Mountain Ridge (7)

The Mountain Ridge Sentinels showcased their offensive depth and top-tier pitching to turn back the Herriman Mustangs in a focused 7–3 victory. The afternoon was highlighted by a display of power from the heart of the Sentinels' order, as Cooper Goff and Boston Swain both cleared the fence with home runs to provide a decisive early cushion. On the mound, Colby Claassen was absolutely nails, surrendering only one earned run over five masterful innings while racking up seven strikeouts to keep the Mustangs' hitters off-balance. Herriman showed plenty of life in the middle frames behind extra-base hits from Hayes Priest and Logan Gregory, but they struggled to find a rhythm against Claassen’s electric stuff and the Sentinels' defensive poise. With multi-hit efforts from Brody Buck and Ryker Morton adding to the pressure, Mountain Ridge’s ability to maximize their scoring opportunities and execute on the bump ensured they maintained control until the final out.

#7 Timpanogos (6) vs. Mountain View (5)

The Timpanogos Timberwolves outlasted Mountain View in a focused 6–5 victory, anchored by a standout complete-game performance from Canyon Clegg. Clegg was clinical on the mound, navigating all seven innings and racking up six strikeouts while surrendering just two earned runs. Offensively, the Timberwolves showcased their situational efficiency and extra-base power, led by Jace Hunter, who collected two hits including a triple and a double. Corbin Hardy and Cooper Hawkes were equally instrumental, both providing run-scoring doubles to keep the pressure on the Bruins' defense. Mountain View made a persistent charge throughout the afternoon, fueled by a multi-hit performance from Caden Imes, who peppered the gaps with two doubles, and steady table-setting from Deacon Telford. Despite the Bruins’ late-game efforts to even the score, Clegg’s defensive poise and the Timberwolves' collective focus allowed them to secure the hard-fought win in the opening contest of this three-game series, which picks up again today.
