2026 Minnesota High School Preview: Dover-Eyota

Andy Judkins
State Director, Prep Baseball Minnesota

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement is building throughout Minnesota. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there is no shortage of talented players and teams across the land of 10,000 lakes.

Prep Baseball Minnesota strives to be the most comprehensive source of player information across the state. Prep Baseball is the number one resource for high school baseball in each state that we cover through various events, boots-on-the-ground scouting staff, daily coverage, and multimedia platforms. Our multimedia platforms and events work together, creating each state's most potent high school baseball promotion source. While other organizations take a national approach, our goal is to become the authoritative voice on the ground level of each state.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state.

Each week we will be releasing our Player of the week and Diamond Notes, covering all the bases across the state of Minnesota.

TEAM OUTLOOK

“We are returning all starters from last year’s team.  We will still be relatively young with only one to two seniors, but we have a very strong junior class with five returning starters and two of them were all conference and one was all section.  The remaining will be sophomores and freshmen.  Our pitching will be improved with the maturity of these players and we should have a better hitting line up as they all gained a lot of experience last year as well as many of them playing summer ball in various organizations.  If this team makes the steps expected they should be pretty competitive this year.  Our keys to a successful season will depend on players learning to get on base any way possible and be threats on the basepaths when they get there.  We will need to score runs and keep pressure on the opponent each and every game.  Last year we should have scored more runs and we will make changes to score more runs this year.  I expect the pitching to hold it’s own as each pitcher has gained experience.  We will play strong defense.” – Brian DeFrang, head coach
