Overall Summary

Kennewick enters the 2026 season with high hopes after falling just short in the 3A state championship game last season. The Lions bring back a majority of their lineup, headlined by talented senior OF/LHP Dylan Mamiya. The lefthander has an aggressive style of play with impact speed on the bases and in center field defensively, paired by a plus bat in the middle of the lineup. Mamiya was also one of two starting pitchers leaned upon heavily in 2025, and figures to take on a similar role on the mound this spring. Elsewhere, senior RHP and Walla Walla CC commit Trayce Teagle also returns. Teagle was dominant at times on the mound as the Lions' top arm and provides another top of the order bat as well. The senior class is fortified further by Columbia Basin commit Dominic Driver, who provides some pop in the middle of the order and a steady glove at third base. Other returners in the senior class include Brady Mattson, Chase Taylor and Teryn Curtis. Junior OF Bradley Parker swung the bat well in the state playoffs seen by Prep Baseball, and could see a larger role offensively. Junior RHP Samuel Crowther provides another option on the mound with upside. Kennewick faces some tough matchups in their 2026 schedule, including games with West Valley, Richland and Kamiakin. Expect the Lions to once again be in the mix for a 3A title this season.
