Prep Baseball Kansas City Winter Watchlist

As we roll through the winter, our Kansas City staff has a short list of players we’re especially fired up to see as showcase season heats up ahead of a massive 2026 spring. Follow along as we highlight some of the standout players we’ll be tracking at winter showcases, names we’re excited about now and expect to make serious noise heading into 2026.

Right Handed Pitchers

Cameron Taylor RHP / 3B / Kearney, MO / 2026

Cameron Taylor is one of the most electric arms in the Kansas City area and is poised for a big senior year at Kearney. We saw Taylor several times this summer with the Royals Scout Team, where he consistently showcased a swing-and-miss fastball that touched 96 mph. The Missouri native represented the state at the Prep Baseball Super 60 Pro Showcase where he showcased his skills on the national stage.

Carson Cooke RHP / 3B / Mill Valley, KS / 2027

Cooke is a 2025 Prep Baseball Future Gamer for Team Kansas and a top-10 right-handed pitcher in his class. The Mill Valley junior spent a good amount of time this past summer competing in Prep Baseball KC tournaments with US Nationals, where he emerged as one of their most consistent and reliable arms. Cooke features a mid-to-upper-80s fastball paired with two above-average secondary pitches, with the slider serving as his true swing-and-miss out pitch. He is set to throw at the MOKAN Preseason ID on February 8th.

Lucas Kamerzell RHP / OF / Blue Valley, KS / 2028

Kamerzell was a Prep Baseball Central Super Sophomore for Team Kansas, where he showcased a fastball that topped out at 86 mph. At 6-foot-4, 193 pounds, Lucas has a big, projectable frame with plenty of velocity still in the tank as he continues to add strength. That projection is exactly why we’re excited to see what he looks like coming off a strong fall and winter during his sophomore year.

Kamerzell is signed up to attend the MOKAN Preseason ID and was a regular with Building Champions at Prep Baseball Kansas City tournaments last summer, giving us plenty of looks at his continued development.

Macoy Moody RHP / OF / Wamego, KS / 2027

A physical 6-foot-2, 218-pound right-hander from Wamego High School, Macoy Moody is a player we’re excited to see at the MOKAN Preseason ID. The last time we saw Moody was in October at the Kansas Fall ID, where he topped out at 88.1 MPH on the fastball and showed a quality slider.

Moody was also on full display at the 2025 Prep Baseball Future Games, where he tossed two scoreless innings and generated swing-and-miss with all three pitches.

Kael Fisher RHP / OF / Mill Valley, KS / 2029

Fisher is an emerging young right-hander set to begin his freshman campaign at Mill Valley and is an exciting arm in the 2029 class. He has been up to 80 MPH at our events, and we’re eager to see how the fall has impacted his development as he approaches the key freshman-to-sophomore growth window. The US Nationals right-hander and utility player shows a projectable pitcher’s frame along with repeatable mechanics at a young age.

We’re looking forward to seeing Fisher take the mound at the MOKAN Preseason ID.

Parker Bass RHP / Olathe West, KS / 2028

Parker Bass is an arm we saw frequently this summer at Creekside and Homefield, and his frame and arm strength consistently stood out. At 6-foot-6, 227 pounds, Bass is one of the more physical arms in his class, and his velocity is trending in a positive direction. At the Kansas Fall ID, he topped out at 87.4 MPH on the fastball and showcased a quality changeup at 79.4 MPH with solid movement.

Bass will be in attendance at the MOKAN Preseason ID.

Wyatt Hansen RHP / 3B / Olathe South, KS / 2028

Wyatt is another exciting 2028 arm in our group and will also be in attendance at the Kansas City Preseason ID this weekend. He features a mid-80s fastball and a big breaking slider that spins at 2,300 RPMs. We’re excited to see the strength gains and overall growth he’s made coming out of the fall and winter.

Evan Loftis RHP / 1B / Liberty North, MO / 2027

The 2025 Future Gamer is one to monitor this year, as it’s an important season for the class of 2027 right-hander. Loftis has a strong 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength. He features a fastball that has climbed into the upper 80s, a quality changeup, and both a slider and curveball in his arsenal. Evan is set to throw at the Kansas City Preseason ID on February 14th.
