Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Athletic build with some physicality.
Delivery: Drop and drive delivery with a deliberate tempo. Uses a moderate leg lift before striding open into a balanced landing with some recoil.
Arm Action: RH. Long strong arm action from a low 3/4 slot.
FB: T88, 83-87 mph. Mostly strikes, high spin, some arm side run. T2413, 2319 average rpm.
SL: 74-78 mph. Good control, high spin, tight right to left break. T2867, 2696 average rpm.
CH: 77-81 mph. Some strikes, kills spin, arm side fade. T2019, 1781 average rpm.
RHP Carson Cooke (Mill Valley, 2027) was a must-see arm on the mound at this event. The strong-bodied 5-foot-11, 175-pound uncommitted junior continued to build on his performance at the Prep Baseball Future Games earlier this summer, running his fastball up to 87.8 mph and pitching comfortably at 83–86 mph with over 2,300 RPM of spin. Cooke’s best secondary offering looks to be his swing-and-miss slider, thrown at 74–77 mph with up to 2,800+ RPM and -14.2 inches of sweep. He rounded out his arsenal with a 76–80 mph changeup that showed up to 20 inches of arm-side fade.
