2025 Team Kansas Future Games Preview

From Wednesday, July 23rd, through Saturday, July 26th, the Prep Baseball Future Games will take place at the state-of-the-art LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA. Since the event’s inception in 2011, the Prep Baseball Future Games has evolved into the biggest college scouting event in the country, with more than 375 college coaches in attendance each of the last two years. The bedrock of the event, the 16U division returns, and we will again feature a 14U Junior Future Games division in addition to the second year of the 17U Senior Future Games.

Per usual, the Sunflower State will be proudly represented at the nation's top uncommitted event, with a multitude of the state's top talents making the trip down to LakePoint this upcoming week. Below you will learn more about the players that make up Team Kansas for the 2025 Future Games.

Jackson Barker RHP / Shawnee Mission South, KS / 2027Boasting a strong, physical build at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, Barker has firmly established himself as one of the premier young arms in the state, currently ranked No. 10 overall. A fierce competitor on the mound, he attacks hitters with a fastball that reaches up to 87 mph, delivered from an athletic, deceptive motion and featuring late carry through the zone. He shows advanced feel for a 71–72 mph curveball, consistently landing it for strikes in any count. He’ll also mix in a sharp 74–75 mph slider and a changeup in the upper 70s, rounding out a deep arsenal with room for more velocity to come. |

Jake Busse RHP / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2027One of the most intriguing arms in the Kansas class, offering plenty of projection in a long, lean 6-foot-7, 200-pound frame with room to add strength. Burst onto the scene this summer with several standout outings, culminating in an electric performance at our Heart of America Summer ID. Fastball explodes out of the hand, topping at 95 mph and sitting comfortably at 90–94 mph with developing command. Flashes a sharp low-80s slider with up to -15.2 inches of horizontal movement, and is working in an 81–83 mph changeup with fading action. A high-upside name to follow closely as he continues to polish his game. |

Brody Clasen RHP / Mulvane, KS / 2027Highly athletic 6-foot, 160-pound three-sport standout with plenty of room to fill out. Moves well on the mound with a loose, whippy arm action that suggests more velocity is on the way. Has touched 90 mph several times this summer, sitting primarily in the mid-to-upper 80s. Fastball plays mostly straight with some ride through the top of the zone, spinning at 2,400+ RPM. His go-to strikeout pitch is a high-spin, low-70s slider that generates consistent swing-and-miss.

Carson Cooke RHP / Mill Valley, KS / 2027Durable 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame with present strength. A true competitor on the mound who played a key role out of the bullpen for regional champion Mill Valley, logging several high-leverage innings during the Jaguars’ postseason run. Features a heavy fastball that sits in the mid-80s and topped at 87 mph this spring, coming from a low ¾, near sidearm slot that creates uncomfortable at-bats for hitters. His best secondary offering is a high-spin slider in the low-to-mid 70s, showing sweeping action and consistent swing-and-miss potential. |

Carson Douglass RHP / Eisenhower, KS / 2027Projectable 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength. Douglass is of the more intriguing arms in the Kansas class and a name to watch moving forward. Features a loose, whippy arm action with clear velocity upside. Has run his fastball up to 87 mph across multiple looks this year, sitting comfortably in the low-to-mid 80s. His 2,700+ RPM breaking ball is a true difference-maker—he lands it consistently for strikes and generates plenty of swing-and-miss. Complements his arsenal with a deceptive upper-70s changeup that features heavy arm-side fade and reduced spin. |

Kane Dunlavy C / Goddard, KS / 2027One of the most physical bats in the class, standing at a strength-filled, 6-foot-1, 225-pound frame. Brings true middle-of-the-order power potential at the next level, thanks to a smooth left-handed swing that generates effortless pop with intent to elevate to the pull side. Consistently produces triple-digit exit velocities. Athletic behind the plate with clean actions and pop times ranging from 1.93–1.98. Also capable of holding down first base with reliable glove work. |

Hays Ensley OF / Mulvane, KS / 2027Athletic 5-foot-11, 169-pound frame that stands out on both sides of the ball. A 2024 Super Sophomore Games participant and the No. 17-ranked prospect in the Kansas class. Top of the order bat offensively, showcasing a fluid, quick right-handed swing with an all-fields approach and advanced barrel feel that consistently translates in game. Currently hitting well over .400 this summer, with emerging power adding another dimension to his profile. A 6.80 runner who impacts the game on the basepaths, Ensley is also a high-level defender in the outfield, showing advanced instincts and an 86 mph arm. |

Hudson Hardesty 1B / Lawrence, KS / 2027Few players have burst onto the scene as quickly as Hardesty, following a breakout spring campaign with the Chesty Lions. The physical 6-foot, 180-pound left-handed hitter is quickly establishing himself as one of the top bats in the region, with strength and athleticism continuing to trend up. Swings a quick, fluid left-handed barrel that generates easy gap-to-gap power and consistently finds the sweet spot. Has performed at a high level across multiple looks this summer, regularly finding himself headed for extra bases. A steady, reliable defender at first base with soft hands and feel around the bag.

Quincy Koehn RHP / Maize, KS / 2027Imposing presence on the mound with a 6-foot-5, 236-pound frame. The No. 3-ranked arm and No. 6 overall prospect in the Kansas class. Moves with controlled intent, generating effortless velocity with much more in the tank. His fastball sits 85–88 mph and has touched 89 mph this spring across multiple outings. He mixes in a low-60s curveball and a unique, low-spin forkball at 73–76 mph with heavy fade—an effective putaway pitch that regularly misses barrels. |

Owen Lester INF / Lawrence Free State, KS / 2027Long, lean 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with plenty of physical upside. A 2024 Super Sophomore Games participant who stepped into a starting role this spring for 6A State Champion Lawrence Free State. Left-handed hitter with a long-levered swing, present bat speed, and gap-to-gap power that projects to grow as he continues to add strength and polish. Shows a mature, all-fields approach at the plate and has consistently demonstrated advanced feel for contact across multiple looks during a breakout summer campaign. Versitile defender that can play both infield and outfield spots. |

Brett Liezert RHP / Olathe East, KS / 2027Compact and physical at 6-foot-0, 198 pounds, with present strength throughout. Currently ranked the No. 2 arm in the Kansas class and a top 350 prospect nationally. Served as a frontline arm for a top 10 Olathe East squad this spring. Fastball sits in the upper 80s and has touched 89 mph, playing with carry through the zone. Clean, controlled mechanics hint at even more velocity to come. Brock Lubbers RHP / Rock Creek, KS / 2027Physical 6-foot-2, 197-pound frame with clear projection. A 2024 Super Sophomore Games participant who played a pivotal role in Rock Creek’s run to the 4A State Championship Game this spring. Garnered Prep Baseball Kansas All-State honors after posting an impressive 8–0 record, 0.71 ERA, and 84 strikeouts. Attacks the zone with a composed, three-pitch mix. Fastball sits in the mid-to-upper 80s, topping at 88 mph this spring with natural arm-side run. Ryker Mahnke OF / Lawrence Free State, KS / 2027Athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound top-of-the-order tone setter with an advanced feel for the game. One of the most polished hitters in the region, consistently turning in multi-hit performances against quality arms. Connor McCool INF / Shawnee Mission South, KS / 2027Athletic 6-foot, 173-pound frame with lean strength. One of the top two-way prospects in the Kansas class, currently ranked No. 12 overall. Generates effortless bat speed from a physical right-handed swing, working through the middle of the field with consistent hard contact. A top-of-the-order presence who shows the ability to elevate and drive the baseball, particularly with pull-side power. Defensively, he's a steady, sure-handed presence up the middle. On the mound, he runs a heavy fastball up to 88 mph, sitting comfortably in the mid-80s, and mixes in a slider and changeup with feel for the zone. |

Macoy Moody RHP / Wamego, KS / 2027Physically built at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds. Served as a dependable go-to arm for the Red Raiders this spring, earning First Team All-NCKL honors. Competitor on the mound that attacks the zone with a mid-80s fastball, topping at 87 mph in summer action with more in the tank. Go-to out pitch is a low-70s curveball that flashes depth when located down in the zone and shows swing-and-miss potential. Finn Moore INF / Lawrence Free State, KS / 2027Physical 6-foot, 200-pound frame with strength throughout a well-proportioned, athletic build. Enjoyed a breakout spring as a middle-of-the-order run producer for the 6A State Champion Firebirds. Polished right-handed swing with advanced barrel control and the ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields. Shows noticeable arm strength across the diamond with steady, reliable defensive actions and all around feel for the game. A two-sport standout who also excels on the gridiron. |

Landon O'Reilly RHP / Blue Valley, KS / 2027Lean, athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with plenty of room to add size and strength. Logged innings on the mound as a sophomore this spring for Blue Valley, showing promise with a controlled, easy-moving delivery. Clean mechanics and ease of operation suggest more velocity is on the way. Works in the mid-80s with his fastball, showing late arm-side run and life through the zone, and has been up to 87 mph in past outings. A 2024 Super Sophomore Games participant who has done nothing but trend up since a standout spring season, where he hit over .400 in one of the state’s most competitive leagues. Compact, efficient left-handed swing with all-fields feel, advanced barrel accuracy, and a proven ability to handle high-end arms. Steady, reliable defender up the middle with instinctual actions. A scrappy, high-IQ, high-motor gamer who plays with consistent energy and competitiveness. |

Ty Schmeidler OF/LHP / Thomas More Prep-Marian, KS / 2027Athletic, multi-sport talent with a lean 6-foot, 159-pound frame and present strength. One of the top two-way players in the Kansas class, ranked No. 2 overall and inside the top 200 nationally. Played a key role in leading Thomas More Prep-Marian to a 24–6 record and a return trip to the state tournament this spring. Offensively, features a polished left-handed swing that works inside-out with natural feel for the barrel and emerging pull-side pop. A 6.86 runner who covers ground with ease in the outfield. Strike-thrower with swing-and-miss stuff on the mound—racking up 78 strikeouts this spring. Brayden Shannon INF / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2027Athletic, lean 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with plenty of room to add strength. Ranked as the No. 9 prospect in the Kansas class. Stepped into a starting role for Blue Valley Southwest this spring, playing a key part in their third-place finish at the state tournament. A rhythmic mover at the plate with a short, quick right-handed swing and advanced barrel feel, consistently driving line drives gap to gap.
