Boiling Springs  8     Dorman 2

Boiling Springs picked up an 8 to 2 win over Dorman on Friday behind a big offensive surge late in the game.  Cruz Hunnicutt led the way with four RBIs, highlighted by a go ahead grand slam in the sixth that broke things open.  The Bulldogs responded after an early deficit and took control with power at the plate, including home runs from JD Moore and Grant McAbee.  Trey Godfrey locked it down out of the bullpen with three scoreless innings to secure the win.

Gavin Henderson, 2027, Boiling Springs

South Carolina Gamecock Commit.  Long, lanky, ultra-projectable frame with loud present stuff and clear upside on the mound. Arm works loose and fast, and the ball jumps out of the hand with ease.  The fastball sat 90-93 mph and touched 94, showing life through the zone and the ability to overwhelm hitters when elevated.  He attacks with intent and shows confidence challenging hitters early in counts.  The slider at 80-84 mph is a true weapon.  It has tight spin with late, sharp action and gives him a swing-and-miss option against both right and left-handed hitters.  The changeup at 83-84 mph rounds out the arsenal with solid separation and consistent arm speed.  It shows developing feel and adds another layer to keep hitters off balance.  Big-time upside arm with power stuff and projection.

Cruz Hunnicutt, 2027, Boiling Springs

Big, physical presence in the box with strength that shows up in game.  Came through with a loud performance, barreling a ball for a base hit and later delivering the biggest swing of the day with a grand slam to break it open and extend the lead to 8 to 2.  The swing works with intent and leverage, producing hard contact and impact to all fields.  Strength translates well through the zone, and he shows the ability to drive the baseball in key situations.
