2026 High School Team Preview: Terrell Academy Eagles

The 2026 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Georgia.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the GHSA or GIAA state playoffs, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Georgia. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our scheduled podcasts and releasing our preseason top-10 rankings in each GHSA classification and Power 25.

Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week, updating the top-10 ranks in each GHSA classification, as well updating our Power 25 overall rankings. One thing, especially, you don’t want to miss are our scheduled podcasts with guests from across the state, as well as the recaps and previews of the big games we’re covering.

TEAM OUTLOOK

With a young roster that will be featuring 12 freshmen and zero seniors, the Eagles will be learning and growing together as a group and looking to improve on their first-round exit from a year ago. A core group of juniors will play an important role for this club in many ways, not just on the field. OFs Hunter Green and Jack Hampson return as multi-year starters for the Eagles and will be key in providing stability in the lineup with quality gloves to match. Another junior in SS Brooks Strickland will be the only upperclassman in the dirt for Coach Walker and brings multi-year experience with a top of the order bat to help lead and develop this young group. One of the biggest factors for this club this spring is returning junior RHP/INF Brody Cowart, who will step into the SP1 role for the Eagles for the 2nd straight year and look to build off some big growth made as a sophomore. The aforementioned underclass depth and contributions for the Eagles will be significant for the Eagles, and look for freshman 1B/RHP Flint McCullough to be an X-factor for this team with big power in the 6-foot-2 frame and ability to compete for a spot in the rotation as well. There will be some trial by fire for Coach Walker this spring, but playing with house money and looking to grow as a group is always beneficial.
