Upperclass Preseason All-State: Blast Motion Leaderboard

RJ Elmore
Western Operations Director

QUEEN CREEK, AZ – On Sunday, February 8, 2026, the Prep Baseball Arizona staff was at Casteel High School in Queen Creek, Arizona for the Upperclass Preseason All State Showcase. The event brought together over 120 of the top upperclass prospects from the 2026 through 2027 classes and served as an early season checkpoint as players prepared for the upcoming spring.

Each participant received a full Prep Baseball profile update that included a headshot, video, showcase metrics, and advanced data. With profiles accessed by college programs nationwide, the event provided meaningful exposure while giving our staff an important early look at some of the top talent in the state as we gear up for an exciting season.

Next up, the top overall Blast Motion swing data recorded at the event

BLAST MOTION

HIGHEST PEAK HAND SPEED

HIGHEST AVG. HAND SPEED

Hand Speed: The observed speed as measured on the handle of the bat (measured six inches from the knob of the bat). Peak Hand Speed will occur prior to the moment of impact, very close to the commit time in the swing when the wrists unhinge.

HIGHEST PEAK BAT SPEED

HIGHEST AVG. BAT SPEED

Bat Speed: The observed speed of the sweet spot of the bat at impact. The sweet spot of the bat is measured six inches from the tip of the bat.

HIGHEST PEAK ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION

HIGHEST AVG. ROTATIONAL ACCELERATION

Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.
