As we look back on the 2025 summer tournament circuit here in Kansas City, we’ll be breaking down the top players by tool from each class — based on evaluations from our scouting team at Homefield and Creekside. Axton Brewer was one of the most impressive starters we saw all year. The Auburn commit was about as lights out as it gets in Prep Kansas City tournament play. His fastball has been up to 92 mph with late carry, and he consistently generates swing-and-miss with it, which sets up his off-speed arsenal—highlighted by a solid changeup.
While we didn’t see him extensively this past year, he made the most of every outing. In the post below, Brewer was virtually unhittable for the Midwest Bruins, throwing a four-inning perfect game and striking out seven.
